“A mediocre experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014 via mobile

The servers were attentive. However, the receptionist never put her cell phone down. This was very distracting. Every time she returned to her reception desk she picked up her phone and was texting. The food was overcooked and mediocre. As local residents I am disappointed in our experience the other night

“Italiano: The Real Deal in North Scottsdale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

The litmus test of Italian eateries anywhere is pasta Bolognese. At Uncle Louie it arrives piping hot and flavorful. And it stays that way to the bottom of the serving platter, no matter how fast or slow you eat. How do they do that? Nobody else does! Not like that. Remarkable prep and presentation are coupled with ever-changing and delectably tasting specials. Not cheap, but it won't break you. Very decent wine selections. Marie and Lou make everyone in the place feel like family.

this is a neighbourhood place where locals come for great food and happy hour(s) and visitors are made to feel welcome right away. its casual so you can go last minute. you might have to wait for a table but the owners will say "hi" and you won't mind

“Dine at the bar!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

We love this place!! Great ambiance, great service, amazing food!! Casual attire or dressed up, great either way. Louie and Marie are most gracious hosts, and add a personal touch. They interact with employees and guests alike. We highly recommend stopping in and checking it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed!! Sit at the bar for fun conversation.

“Gluten Free Diners Beware”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

We selected this restaurant because of it's featured GF menu, but were sorely disappointed. After extensively clarifying the wait staff's understanding of our GF dining needs and affirming that understanding with the owner, my daughter discovered croutons hidden underneath her ceasar salad lettuce and my wife finished her GF pasta by finding a spaghetti noodle at the bottom of her bowl (for those with Celiac, this type of cross-contamination is not insignificant.) We took these unfortunate discoveries in stride, but in conveying to the staff/owner our sensitivity, they were borderline dismissive. For the rest of us who aren't GF, the food was average, at best. You can do better in the area.
