Calling the rooms in this hotel "suites" is very misleading. Upon entering the room for the first time, my first reaction was "why is the bed in the middle of the living space?" The answer was because there was no living space to speak of. It is actually a very small hotel room with a kitchenette and a small bathroom. It is suitable for one person. Two very closely related, compatible people can make it work, somewhat uncomfortably. I pity anyone who brings a family to this place and expects to use the fold out couch. We were scheduled for 10 days, and thought about moving, but the area we needed to be in was pretty filled up and we had already committed to paying $100 for our dog, so we stuck it out. I was also disappointed in the rate. I had a "discounted" special event rate for the whole stay, which later seemed to be the same rate offered on the internet for weekdays. I went online the week before my stay and found a cheaper rate offered for the weekend. So shop carefully and don’t assume a special event rate is the best rate you can get. I won't list everything, but the security gate between Mimi's Cafe and the hotel didn't close properly. You don't need a security gate if it doesn’t close and lock. The toilet very consistently took at least 3 flushes to clear the bowl. This was February, and the air conditioner barely cooled the room while running constantly. The weather cooled off later in the week so we lived with it. The breakfast is very weak-packaged muffins, granola bars and warm juice in bottles. Note also that this is the type of residence hotel that cleans your room infrequently. We stayed 10 days and our room was cleaned once and "refreshed" twice. We had no problem getting clean towels however by asking at the desk. Since the housekeepers were cleaning the room across the hall early in the morning on our cleaning day, we made the mistake of putting the “later” sign on our door. We took it off when we left about 9:30 am. The housekeepers interpreted this as meaning we didn’t want our room cleaned at all. Fortunately I came back to the room in the afternoon and called the desk to get the room cleaned, after listening several times to the excuse that we had a “do not disturb” sign on the door the housekeepers were dispatched to clean the room. This is not a horrible place; it is reasonably clean and modern. It is just not what you would expect from a "suites" hotel from Marriott, which I generally like as a major chain. It's also not a very good value.
