“Great Food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

The staff at Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West recommended this restaurant. We found the food was trully very good. The complimentary triColored Tortilla chips and salsa were delicious. We all ordered different items. The Pecan wood grilled Anaho salmon "Lazy" tacos was very tasty. The Chicado West sandwich ( grilled chicken, jack cheese avocado, and chipotle relish on a bun) was outstanding. The shrimp quesadilla with the mango salsa was to die for.

“Delicious, beautiful food, great service, friendly/!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014 via mobile

I had lunch at the Blue Adobe Cafe on a weekday. The outdoor patio filled up quickly. Our waiter Nick couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.
I had the salmon. Wonderful. The potato on the plate was swirled with a pastry mould into a chilpolte ? pepper. Just beautiful. As we paid our check Nick asked if we would like our dirinks (soft) in to-go cups for the road. Great experience.

“Wow! Not your average Mexican restaurant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014 via mobile

Everything we tried was fabulous! Chicken chop salad had by one diner was fresh and tasty with wonderful guacamole. Steak with the portobello mushroom enchilada covered in amaretto cream sauce was heaven on the plate! Had heard about a Moscow Mule on Oprah, but had never tried. The one from here was so good, I'm going back even if I only have one of these! Our server was extremely knowledgable about the menu and his recommendations were spot on!

“Very special people operate this classic grill!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

Folks have already lauded the Adobe for its great food. But what really pleased us is that they found a table for us during their busiest time of the evening, and on short notice. When we arrived we did not have to wait and we were not shuffled off to the bar. The four of us enjoyed a leisurely dinner, and never once did we feel pressured to pay our tab and move on. Thank you

“Authentic State of New Mexico in AZ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

I think there is a same name restaurant with a close affiliation in Mesa, AZ but this is for the one located on FLW near Shea Blvd in Scottsdale. They pretty much nail it with the "Four Corners" thing, with mostly an authentic New Mexican / Santa Fe way of preparing things (Simple math for the simpletons out there: New Mexico is not Mexico. New Mexico does things totally different than Mexico, and is much better in my opinion. If you want authentic good Mexican Food, then you have to travel to Oaxaca, Mexico). The enchiladas at the Blue Adobe Grill are stacked and yes you can get an egg right on top just like they offer as an extra in the State of NM. My favorite is the Cruz Kitchen Signature with a green chile relleno, Tamale, and carne adovada. The relleno is filled with steak tenderloin which I have only seen done in central Texas so that is a different twist but still great, the tamale is filled with pork and is smoked, and the carne adovada is slow cooked and the pork is marinated just right in red chile sauce. In NM they spell their long narrow chile pods like C-H-I-L-E. Mexican pods are more like green bell peppers and they call them poblano...not served in this fantastic restaurant thank God!!! The Blue Adobe comes very close to the mark with authentic New Mexican cuisine. Most meals arrive on piping hot plates straight out of the oven (just like NM), and their meals are covered in plenty of the good stuff (red or green chile sauce). You can even order your meal "Christmas" which is a mix of red and green. For pork or red meat dishes I prefer red chile. I have seen live music in the bar on weekends. The margaritas are good too. You can't miss at this place, and it appears they really try to keep their roots in the State of NM as identified with the menu names of NM towns.
