My wife, 11 year old son, and I just returned from four nights at the Four Seasons resort in Scottsdale. The resort is located in northeast Scottsdale, and there is a lot of new construction in the area, including new time-shares being built within the Four Seasons resort. Nevertheless, the resort was very quiet throughout our stay. The resort is beautifully designed with groups of small casitas, each with approximately 4 rooms. We had a premium casita room on the second floor overlooking the valley. The room was not plush, but it was very comfortable, clean, and neatly decorated with a simple southwestern theme. We used our gas fireplace on the last night when the temperatures dropped into the 50s. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained, and there is a wide range of native vegetation on the grounds that makes for interesting walks. The resort is kid-friendly, with numerous activities and a nice size pool. There is also an adults-only pool for those without kids. With regard to the activities, I recommend a Hummer tour of the dessert. It is also a very easy drive into Phoenix, and we took in a Diamond Backs game during our stay. However, the best thing about the resort was the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive. I read comments to the contrary on this site before my trip, but my experience could not have been more positive. We arrived at the resort around midnight and were immediately taken by golf cart to our casita where there was a personalized snack waiting for my son. Several of the staff knew it was my birthday - I assume from my profile - and on our last night there was a small birthday cake for me in our room when we returned from dinner. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
