“The best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2005

This is the best hotel I've stayed at. The staff never stopped amazing us with the little things they did to make our stay pleasant. The room was wonderfully decorated. The public areas filled with local art and decor. The restaurant and lobby lounge were both wonderful.

Just returned from a stay in the most fab suite (the mcdowell suite) at the four seasons. From the moment we arrived and for the entire week it was pure heaven. The staff was wonderful and the food was great in the resort. We had great breakfast buffets every AM and Acacia was outstanding for dinner. I also highly recommend a restaurant named Sassi that is down the road from the resort. Italian food to die for and I am used to eating NYC italian- you will not be disappointed. We also were able to stargaze from our room-they will bring a telescope to your suite if you ask.
I like how they preserved the natural landsape when building the resort. We got to see many birds and bunnies around the property. The spa was Outstanding - I had the hot stone massage. My husband raved about the troon golf course. The only possible negative is that the resort is 20 min away from downtown scottsdale and you definitely need to rent a car. But we didnt mind driving. Also dont miss the frank lloyd wright school and if you are a food snob like me you will love the choices of great restaurants(T.Cooks and Sassi). A five star experience all around!!!!

Had so much fun this May despite a mini-"heat wave" where temperatures reached 100 degrees - but was a dry heat so not bad! Stayed 3 nights and loved everything. The pool is great and the rest. by the pool and also hotels' cresent moon is very good (and I am a food snob).
In terms of the heat - they spray you with a fine mist of water by certain cabanas around the pool and while dining (it is a machine and can be avoided if you wish) and it is so refreshing. They also pass out frozen towels! Have great frozen drinks and well they think of everything. Staff is well trained and wonderful.
The golf at Troon was amazing. First time playing desert golf and it was challenging but fun. The greens and the course overall were in great shape - played both monument and pinnicale and would recommend both but the Monument is a tad more forgiving. Greens were very fast and play was also quick.
Other recommendations: on hotels suggestions went for horseback ride into the desert with cave creek outfitters - so much fun even though we have never been on horseback before. Horses seemed very happy and well cared for. Note - wear jeans and heavy shoes/thick sneakers and pay attention. Guides are great.
Pinicale peak park - can walk there from the hotel, and climb up maps provided. I am not in bad shape but you would have thought so if you saw me climb - challenging but so much fun and great views. All ages are climbing but bring water!

I just returned from the Four Seasons , just north of Scottsdale, and had the most unforgettable and relaxing desert experience. Driving onto the property was " jaw- dropping" , and I have stayed at many luxury resorts! Out of all the places I had to choose from to go on a four day pleasure trip, this resort was definitely the best choice and exceeded all of my expectations. We were greeted warmly and our room was ready, even though it was 12:30. The natural desert landscape and native plants and flowers were absolutely gorgeous. Our Casita was large, luxurious, and no detail overlooked, even though we were staying in the lowest rate moderate room. The Lobby, the pathways, the pools, cabanas were all outstanding. We ate the most delicious freshly made quacamole everyday. Oh, and comfort; everything was unbelievably comfortable from the bed, chaise lounges at the pool, and the over-sized chairs throughout the property. The friendly service was prompt, courteous and unpretenious. This resort is beautiful and blissfully relaxing with awesome views overlooking Pinnacle Peak, desert rock and boulder formations and the far off lights of Scottsdale. Since the resort is actually at 2700 feet above sea level, the air was cleaner, the stars brighter, the natural plant growth more diverse, and overall a paradise found! The entire layout of the resort is easy and well planned. They have three pools, one of which is the " adults only" quiet pool , a family pool , and an excellent toddler/child's pool. We did not want to leave, and I am going to return next April, if not before. Tip: The best time to go is from March thru May.

My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons from 3/21 to 3/26 and we can't stop raving about the resort. The accommodations were fabulous and the service was excellent across the board (from the valet to the spa to the restaurants). The resort is very secluded and high in the hills, with amazing panoramic vistas of the mountains and valley below. The main buildings, casitas, furnishings and grounds are appropriately styled to matched the surrounding desert landscape. The pictures posted to the Four Seasons web site give you a good sense of what the resort is like--the rooms, the pool, the restaurants etc. If that's not your style or what you consider luxury, then go to a bigger, more flashy resort like the Phoenician. We were looking for a quiet resort with quality food, excellent service and well-appointed accommodations and the Four Seasons met our expectations. A nice surprise--they have free laundry facilities for guests!

My husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary here. It was fabulous. We have stayed at other Four Seasons hotels (including Maui) and found this hotel to have the personal service that is expected at Four Seasons hotels. The room was great .. very comfortable beds, the food was excellent, and the staff at the pool was great .. very friendly. We had several services at the spa and found that to be excellent also. This hotel is located a little out of the way, but it is well worth the scenery and wonderful Four Seasons atmosphere! Overall an unforgettable trip!!
