“Arizona's Toughest Layout”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2012

All you short knockers are in for a night mare on this scenic, outstanding golf course.
If you can hit it straight and long this course is a good challenge.
From the front tees this is a fun course if you hit a straight drive.
Great views from all tees and fairways.
Tees and greens are in great shape.
The fairways are amazing.
We played from 9-1PM and it was delightful at this altitude on a hot 88 degree day.
With the delightful breezes and single digit humidity it was comfortable.
I prefer Stone Ridge to the four other courses we played this time.
Vistoso, and El Conquistador in Tuscon, and Camelback, and Gainey Ranch in Phoenix.
We were enjoying the pace of play, and the great views, we finished in less than four hours.

“Difficult Course, Very Good Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

The Golf Course is very difficult, especially for a high handicap short hitter like myself. I've only played it once and lost 6-7 golf balls into the many ravines. I do go out more to the driving range and have lunch at the restaurant, which is very good

“Awesome Course - Excellent Customer Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2012

Played on Feb 21 - course WAS brown as the grass was dormant, but an entirely excellent round and experience nonetheless. Greens rolled well, easy to hit off the fairways and scenery was outstanding. A really fun course to play, but as noted course mgmt is a must. At somewhere close to 5000 feet in elevation, you'll pick up at least a club loft in distance and 300 yard par fours somehow become drive-able if you're somewhat accurate from the elevated tee boxes. Customer service from tee-time booking through to round finish was first class all the way. I look forward to returning and playing again.

“Rip Roaring Roller Coaster Round of Fun and Frustration”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2012

StoneRidge golf course reminds me of Gold Canyon and Wildfire mixed. This course is a lot of fun and challenge and is best played the 1st time with somebody that has played the course previously or have a good GPS as course management is absolutely necessary. Don't try and use driver off the tees all the time or you will lose a lot of balls. Most tees are elevated which is a lot of fun too. One word of warning, in the winter don't expect the course to look like the photos on the website cause they don't winterize which means it is dead. Also since they don't get as much play they don't charge the carts as there were 37 carts down on the day I played. Looking forward to going back a 2nd time.
