“The worst food and best service.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Went there last night. 2 couples... Very nice atmosphere.. They seemed eager to please us when we arrived.

1 st strike Soup was cold..did not finish
2 nd strike Pretzel bites were raw inside sent them away.
3rd fish was so bland everything had no taste. Pasta dish was cold.. They reheated.. very bland..
We all tried to eat with the salt and pepper shaker just a workin..
We gave up after 20 min went buy waiting for them to heat up a plate of fish...
Finally had enough. I walked over to the owner and handed them my card. Said were done. The bill was 95 and then a reverse charge of 45 dollars.. The owner seemed mad at us for there bad food.. We went next door to Buffalo wild wings and spent another 60 bucks..Much better.
Looked at other reviews before we went.. Everyone said great....and chef John... maybe he was not there?... I admit the drinks were great!
Wonder if the other reviews are real.I Don't get it.

Dear Kim,
Thank you for your positive comments regarding our atmosphere, service and beverages. We are disappointed that you did not find our food to be more exceptional than our neighboring wing restaurant's offerings. We pride ourselves in offering elevated, well-seasoned dishes, paired with local wines and brews in a relaxing yet upscale venue. I do remember your party - as one of your guests had a food allergy. We successfully reworked her entrée choice to accommodate her request to remove the food allergen and she seemed pleased with her dinner. Please know that we would not simply reheat a dish if it were not to a guest's liking; our policy is to prepare a completely new plate which may be why you didn't receive your fish as quickly as you anticipated. Our apologies for not explaining that to you. Finally, as your bill was significantly reduced, we feel that we did our best to recompense you and your guests; however, on your next visit we would be happy to provide you with an appetizer or dessert for your table to share, with our compliments.

“Exceptional Find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

What an exceptional find in a sea of chain restaurants!

The staff greet you with smiles and from there it just gets better!

EVERYTHING here is made from scratch, even the ketchup! John is a 4 or 5 star chef (sorry I don't remember which) and he has a constantly changing menu based on what is seasonally available. For lunch we split several things including the burger, ground in house from a blend of three cuts of beef. It was so good that we came back for wine tasting and stayed for dinner. Delicious!

They have a Wine Me, Dine Me event. This is a chance to have dinner, interact with and watch Chef John get creative in his craft. He designs a 3 course meal paired with 3 wines, and it is different each weekend. I have to go back and try this!

They also feature a rotating list Arizona wines as well as local beers for your drinking pleasure.

Did I mention they have live music too?

“Prescott Valley Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

Not known for it high end restaurants, this wonderful and joyful spot gives you service, great wines and beers and very high quality food. Shocking to find next to a theater and a chain "wings" joint, you will have a quiet, fun, and great experience. Make sure you go.

“High Quality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

Very high quality food, great atmosphere and outstanding service. Additionally. the menu is varied, and after speaking to the owner, we learned that the menu changes on a monthly basis. We also found a range of prices on the menu so you can stop in for light snacks or for dinner.
One suggestion would be the portion sizes of appetizers. We ordered one to split, and it consisted of three very small bits of bread with delicious meats and pears. While the quality was outstanding, the portion was rather small--for $8. Otherwise, this place is fabulous!

“A great new favorite place~”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

We have been several times since their opening in mid-December. Last visit was with 3 other couples and each thoroughly enjoyed their food and the experience. They use locally sourced ingredients and offer local wineries and brew offerings. We found the local Tempranillo quite nice and ordered it each time we visited. Although the menu has now changed, in December the short ribs were melt in your mouth delicious and the accompanying marscapone scalloped potatoes divine. The risotto was dense with mushroom flavor and wild mushrooms. The brined pork was slightly sweet and tender and the grits, well the grits were simply the best I've ever eaten, anywhere! The chicken was extremely juicy and skin crisp. The corn chowder was smoky and satisfying. The housemade breads (mini challah braids, foccacia, rolls with just a sprinkle of coarse salt) and the handchurned sweet butter (room temperature thank you!) are just added attentions to detail in the quality of the food. The portion sizes are just right in my opinion. Lots of GREAT flavor make up for oversized portions, you just enjoy every bite. The service is personable and attentive, no need to ask for refills, plate clearing, etc. And the owner is on site, ready to greet you and meet you. The Chef visits each table throughout the evening, to answer questions, inquire about your experience, etc. He also will take a critique if you have one. I was perplexed about the cold poached egg on the frissee salad...he explained the sous vide in the shell process which allows for a perfect egg, but does not use heat. OK, I get it! Tried it again with that knowledge and enjoyed it all the more.

We are fortunate to have such a jewel in PV! Gotta go tonight to try out the January menu...lobster mac n cheese and s'more dessert sounds like a plan and AZ Stronghold Tazi should accompany nicely.
