“just short of perfect...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2006

I have stayed here twice and had a great experience both times. The service is great and the surroundings are extremely comfortable. If there were just a little bit more attention paid to details as far as cleanliness goes I would have given an excellent rating. Don’t get me wrong the hotel is clean but with some new carpet and wallpaper and a little more attention it would be perfect. Well worth the price.

We were probably very lucky to visit the hotel off season. The manager warmly welcomed us and, upon request, offered a lower off season rate. We had a great night sleep in a wonderfully furnished romantic king size room with a spacious bathroom. There was nothing shabby in this perfectly clean room. Breakfast was plenty and served in the historic lobby. This place has a lot of character and is definitely worth a visit!

Nice little place next to downtown activities but way overpriced for what you get. At 119.00 for the saturday night we stayed we got a room that was 10 x 10 and a bathroom that was in shambles. Duct tape holding the shower together, wallpaper peeling, rust on all the lighting in bathroom plus a few other things...pics included. Would stay again since it has good location but only if was paying 65.00 a night or less

I take complete responsibility for the duct tape in the shower. We had a very busy holiday season and I did a quick, temporary fix in this room. It's hard to find all the right parts for everything in this 90 year old building. This is a circular attachment above one of those old-fashioned claw footed, iron cast tubs. Since the curtains didn't close correctly, it also took a toll on the wall. My apologies to the couple that stayed here while it was like that. I wish they had spoken with us directly and am sorry they felt the need to take photographs and put them on the Internet. I would have done something for them to make it right. I tried to tell every guest it was like that ahead of time and rented the room last, keeping it empty whenever I could. On the other hand, we take all feedback seriously and will use this review as a wake up call to look closer at the details...and certainly to get on things quicker. We really appreciate it when guests directly tell us things that need attention. We try to sleep in different rooms ourselves so we know the little quirks: doors that squeak, toilets that might run, windows that stick, air conditioning that makes noise. I'll do a better and faster job next time! Thank you.

I won two nights at this hotel in a silent auction. I actually live in Prescott and have always wanted an excuse to stay there. These owners do a lot for the Prescott community. They donate rooms and hold events all the time for worthy causes and I am thrilled to have finally won. We spent two nights in this wonderful old place. They just couldn't have been nicer and treated us like regular paying guests. They had a free little continental breakfast which was more than we expected. We walked downtown and had a chance to act like tourists in our own hometown. The rooms are old fashioned and you feel like you are staying in someone's big old house. We had some wine on the front porch and everything was perfect. We will recommend our friends and family always stay there. Lovely...what a treasure!

I thought this hotel/B&B was charming. It is in a really great location, just a short walk to Prescott's town square and whiskey row. I like the old fashioned wood trim around the windows and doors and the room decorations. The bathroom was nice and modern with a roomy tub. There is a nice lounge to sit in and the front porch is nice as well. My husband was not happy with Hotel Vendome. He thought it was over-priced ($120 a night) and that it looked rather dated and needed some work. There was a crack near the ceiling in our room but it is an old building. I wouldn't really call this a B&B myself as it is nothing like any I have stayed in before, but a small hotel. There is a resident ghost here with her cat but I never saw her. If you want a more up to date place, there is the Prescott Resort on top of a hill on the outskirts of Prescott and it even has a casino consisting mainly of one armed bandits. For good mexican food go to El Charo's, a few blocks away.

We stayed for one night as part of a tour of the South West.

The place is full of character and quaint but perhaps a little redecoration in some areas would help. Breakfast was fine and the porch is a nice place to spend some spare time with a book and a beer/coffee.

We have stayed in a lot of historic hotels and B&Bs and the Hotel Vendome has lots of potential. Our first room just needed a little TLC to bring it up to snuff. We stayed in room #28 our first night but the bed was not too comfortable and the bathroom needed a little renovation. The wallpaper around the clawfoot tub is peeling and there was a large crack in the wall over the bathroom door. We realize it's an old hotel but some of these cosmetic things are easy to fix. We moved to room #30 the second night and it was much better. The bed was less rickety and the garden tub was wonderful and clean. Room #30 also has a good view of the town and hills and is quieter since it is at the end of hall. We liked the way all the unoccupied rooms were left open for you to check out. This is why we asked to move to a room with a garden tub in the first place. Breakfast was pretty basic but adequate. The lobby and front porch are very charming and it's a quick walk to the town square. It's a great alternative to boring modern hotels and made for a fun weekend getaway from the Vegas heat.
