“Nice for Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

This was our first visit to El Gato Azul, we came because of the positive reviews on TA, and we are great fans of patio dining. We were there for lunch, and liked it well enough to try it again for dinner at some point when there is entertainment. The main criticism we found in reviews we also found at the restaurant, and that is service. Our initial service was good, but no follow-up, this cost the restaurant two more drinks. By the time the waitress finally did come and ask, we were done. The patio is kind of funky, but nice, they had an area enclosed with plastic for warmth, and then a completely open area where we sat. The restaurant was less than half full during our visit, but it appeared our waitress had too many tables. The food was good, but expensive for the portion sizes. Just a little lower cost on tapas items and I think it would make this place a good deal. The advertised happy hour sounds like a good deal. We have some concerns about the service, but overall we will come back and try it for happy hour and dinner.

“Tapas, drinks, and live music”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

Went here last night based on the Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. We had tapas from a large menu selection - some of which needed explanations from the waitress who gladly described them. Our favorites in order were: Gambas Espinaca, Saffron Croquettes, Black Bean Cakes, and Crab Quesadilla. Had some nice sangrias to go with it. The place isn't huge, about 6 tables inside, and ~10 in an enclosed patio. It was a little cool last night so they had the heat out on the patio and a couple playing music out there which sounded nice. Recommend getting reservations on a weekend since it fills up on the patio. Will definitely go back.

“Loved El Gato!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

Dana at Prescott Pines Inn recommended El Gato when we asked for suggestions for a local eatery. Its got a fun funky atmosphere and the food was great! I had the Green Chile Mac & Cheese and loved every bite. So flavorful my mouth is watering just thinking about it. My husband had the pork tenderloin which was melt-in-your -mouth-tender & delicious! We dined on the patio& enjoyed the live music. If you want a unique & yummy experience, try El Gato Azul.

“Senor Don Gato sticks in my mind.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Our trip to Northern Arizona started in Prescott, and El Gato was pound for pound; ambiance, creativity of menu, et al, the best of our trip through the Grand Canyon and on to Sedona. Foodie/edgy neighbor finds are we like in our hometown of Chicago, but this became rare on our trip. Steakhouses, quiet or rowdy, and expensive fine dining, yes – but cool no. I had the Chorizo and Shrimp sat on the patio, with chain link fence around, and loved it.

“Loved this restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

We had dinner here last week because the owner of the hotel where we were staying highly recommended it, and we were not disappointed. My husband and I both had the Green Chile Mac & Cheese and not only was it delicious, it was enough for us to bring home and enjoy again for a lunch a couple of days later. Our friends split the special (don't remember what it was) and were both very happy with the meal and glad they had shared, because it was a very large serving. The staff was very friendly and efficient and showed us around the patio area, which is enclosed for the cooler months. Great place and when in Prescott again, we'll be dining there.
