“AMAZING PROPERTY AND EXPERIENCE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

We thought Whispering Pines would be very nice, however had no idea of the beautiful view and ambiance. We visited this property for three nights in mid July and everything exceeded our expectations. When it is clear, you can see the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff from the deck, the loft, the living room and the Prescott Room. It is located at 6100 feet and has an ever-changing view of the surrounding mountains and landscape based on the time of day and the clouds. It is the best view we have seen other than a view with water. It has a wrap-around deck with several different areas to sit and enjoying sipping a beverage or eating a snack. They have many humming and other birds for your entertainment on the deck and the surrounding property.
Tim and Gayle were a delight to be around, great sense of humor and very genuine. We felt like they were old friends who welcomed us to their home. We enjoyed many conversations about many different interesting topics. They paid close attention to your needs and requests. They fix a wonderful breakfast each morning with a main course, fresh fruit and cereal if you like. They provide you with wonderful home-made chocolates for a snack during your stay.
They have three short trails with great views and trinkets. They also have a Pentaque court which was great fun to play for us as a couple or would be great for several couples or a family. Their property is very close to the Prescott National Forest so there are many other trails to hike. They provided us with great suggestions for dinner and made our reservations. It is only about an 8 to 10 minute ride to downtown.
We stayed in the Prescott Room which is very comfortable, has a great view and its own private entrance. The living room and loft area provide two TV's and several areas to play games, read or just relax. The decorations change with the seasons and create a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
We had a wonderful time and got a break from the hot weather in Phoenix. We only wished we could have stayed longer. We do plan to return and hope it is in the near future. This is definitely one of the best Bed and Breakfast Properties that we have ever stayed in. We also enjoyed playing the golf courses in the area. This makes a great escape from the Phoenix area or a great place to stay to tour Northern Arizona.

Room Tip: The Prescott room has its own entrance, big bathroom, two sitting chairs and a great view.

This was our second visit to Whispering Pines and it didn't disappoint. Tim and Gayle have added a Petanque court to increase the fun and beauty of their property. Hanging out on the wrap-around deck, enjoying the hummingbird feeder ballet and the cool breeze was an ideal way to escape the heat of Phoenix. If you like serenity with unequal views and a great breakfast then this is the place!!

Room Tip: The Prescott room has the most space and your own entry door to the deck.

Dear Mel and Jonah
Thanks for your critique of your last stay with us at Whispering Pines. The Petanque Court is a fun activity for our guests to partake in, and we are so glad you played some challenging games with one another. Also, it was great having you both just stick around the house during your stay and relax and enjoy all that our B&B offers to entertain - especially the display of so many different birds. Hurry back! Tim & Gayle

We visited the Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast in early June. Tim and Gayle couldn't have been nicer. They made us feel as if we were long lost friends returning home.
Cleanliness is always important to us, and we found that everything was immaculate!
There are short(manageable) trails on the property....or you can do nothing but watch the hummingbirds come in to feed.....what a treat!
We will definitely come back.

We were celebrating our anniversary & came out to stay for a week & tour not only Prescott, but also Sedona, Jerome, Old Town Cottonwood & even had an unplanned dinner in Flagstaff! Whispering Pines really was our "home base" & was an easy drive to all these places as well as a wonderfully relaxing & beautiful place to come "home" to each night. We usually arrived back in time to watch the sunset as we sat on the deck & the sunrises were breathtaking too!
This doesn't even touch on the delicious & unique breakfasts we were served daily & the wonderful hospitality Gayle & Tim provided. Their recommendations for restaurants & area attractions were all wonderful as well. The trails throughout the property were nice, picturesque & again, relaxing. We recommend a vacation stay at Whispering Pines without hesitation & hope to return there ourselves!!!

We recently stayed at Whispering Pines and I would highly recommend it. Gayle and Tim were warm and friendly and made us feel very much at home. They gave great recommendations for dinner and sightseeing.
The accommodations were comfortable and spacious with a great view. There are short trails you can walk around on and find a place to just sit, relax and enjoy the view. Gayle is a fantastic cook. My only complaint might be I ate too much because it was so good. They are really thoughtful including providing a refrigerator with water and cold drinks and where you can stash your leftovers to heat the next day.
If I go back to this area, there is no question where I will stay. I have stayed in a number of bed and breakfasts and for hospitality and thoughtfulness Whispering Pines is top of the pack. While they are a little off the beaten track the location is more convenient than you might think and well worth the trip. They have a great setup to accommodate families as well.

Thanks for your feedback about your experience and stay at Whispering Pines B&B. It means a lot to us to hear from seasoned travelers. We so enjoyed our many "fireside" chats, even without the fire. We look forward to your return. Tim and Gayle

Sure, you create memories by traveling around and visiting places -- but it is in getting to know the people who live in those places that you create meaning in your traveling life. Gayle and Tim offered their friendship unconditionally -- and so much more. We had complete freedom to enjoy our privacy but also enjoy their rich and interesting conversation. (Both have great senses of humor, I should add.) In one direction all of Prescott and beyond is spread out for you, but in the other direction is Prescott National Forest -- we hiked into wilderness right from their property. We also loved just walking the grounds, discovering one restful place after another. From the other reviews you get a sense of the wonderful amenities (breakfasts, chocolate, beds, etc.) -- we would just add that nothing prepared us for the view from their house and the extraordinary changes in weather dynamics stretching out 60 miles or more. We will definitely be back -- maybe take Tim up on his tip to visit Jerome. But we also hope Tim and Gayle will visit US when they head up the coast of California.

What a beautiful inn and breath taking view! The grounds have multiple walking paths and places to stop and take in the sunset and views of Prescott. The inn has wonderful seating areas and decks to also enjoy the views. Gayle and Tim did everything to make our stay great, starting with a warm welcome, delicious breakfasts, and including offering a lot of information on where to go and what to see in the area. This is truly a location that has it all; the peace and calm of the inn, the ability to stay put and enjoy the grounds, and day trips within easy reach. We will be back.
