“Great small town zoo experience!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

Went to this zoo with my wife and 3 daughters. Excellent experience and I highly recommend it-even worth the drive up from PHX as a day trip. You can actually see the animals as the enclosures are not huge like PHX zoo. Perfect for young children-easy to walk around and it has 2 play areas.

“Cute Zoo sanctuary in Prescott”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

You will smile from ear to ear!! Perfect time for a couple, single or family. Do go here for close-up time with well cared for happy looking animals. There is an area for kids to play near goats, miniature horses and sheep. We were impressed by staff who love the animals! And one zoo keeper got inside with a Coati, a small mammal we never saw before to show us it's unique scent drive and friendly nature. The Coati was happy to mingle with the keeper, while he told us about this cute little creature. We saw black and brown bears, frolicking in water and happened to witness feeding time for the Black bear eating a plank feast. Habitats are natural. There are reptile and tarantula exhibits, eagles, hawks, tamarins, bobcats, mountain lion and javelinas among the animals. We were delighted to see galapegos tortoises! The zoo/sanctuary is solely supported by visitors!! Do spend the morning or afternoon there. So much fun! Vending machines only, so eat before or pack a picnic.

“Nice well kept Sanctuary”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

Had a very pleasant visit here. This is a small place. Perfect for a stop on a road trip or for small children. Everything is well kept and the habitats are nicely done, designed to look of natural. Most of this animals were not our for our late morning visit, they must have been taking their afternoon naps already. Staff was friendly. A very nice place to visit,

“fantastic for the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

What a wonderful little zoo. The animals are darn near close enough to touch and all visible and easy to find... at least when we were there mid morning. The tiger was laying right by the front of the cage and talking to us while we watched her, the baby bear was showing off for the trainer as she walked by and while she told us about him, the adult male bear was staring at us from the front of the cage and so it went as we went to each of the cages. Only the mountain lion was hiding when we got there. The raccoons even followed us and showed off the whole time. All the employees we met were friendly and stopped to talk. Without smaller zoos like this, we would have less understanding of the rescue portion of the zoo world and this is a great example of a small zoo!! And you can bring in your own food and water and go from zoo to parking lot and back with no problems

“Nice little Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

I took my 4 year old grandson to this Zoo. We saw all kinds of wildlife. I was mostly impressed with the Bald Eagle. I've never seen one in real life. I was very excited to have seen this Eagle. Almost all of the animals were out and visible. My Mom and I really enjoyed this Zoo. The staff were very informative and friendly. For my 4 year old grandson, his attention span wasn't into it. He was more interested in playing in the playground. Lol.

There were very limited snacks in the front store. I did not see any snack bar in the park. There were vending machines for sodas, but that was about it. I suggest packing your own lunch and enjoy your lunch at the provided picnic tables. There is 1 bathroom at the entrance but porta potty within the park.
