“Charming, great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

I have stayed here 3 or 4 times and have always enjoyed it. I enjoy the historic charm of older hotels. Yes, the rooms are smaller than newer hotels, but you can't beat the fun of riding up in an old fashioned elevator and checking out all the pictures and walking right into the alleyway of shops. It has been a few years since I have stayed and some things have definitely been updated. There was a flat screen TV, new bed and drapes and the room had been painted an updated color. I was lucky enough to have a nice view of the courthouse park. Many years ago, I remember the breakfast being a roll and juice, but this breakfast (that is included) was a full meal! I really loved the potatoes and the bacon was yummy! Service was very friendly both at check in and check out. And as everyone says, the location is absolutely perfect for exploring downtown. There was a little bit of street noise below as the bars were closing, but not enough for me to close my window as I was enjoying the cool air! Great escape from Phoenix!

Room Tip: Loved the room with the courthouse plaza view!

My husband and I love Prescott and have wanted to stay at this hotel for awhile. In fact a few years ago we had reservations but our cat got sick and we had to cancel. So, we decided to do a mini staycation in Prescott in early June and we selected the Hotel St. Michael. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed. Our room was not yet ready but it was earlier than check in, so we expected that might be the case. However, they told us if we came back in 45 minutes our room would then be ready. We thought it was perfect as we had planned to have lunch on the square and that would be just the right amount of time for it. When we came back more than 45 minutes later, our room was ready. We stayed in the suite, room #316. What a wonderful room and so reasonable too. The room is the only suite and it has 1 1/2 bathrooms, a sitting area and of course the bedroom area. It is extremely spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are small but something we did not figure out until we were leaving was that the cabinets actually are medicine cabinets, so they open up and have shelves in them. Not knowing this, we both layer towels on top of the backside of the toilet and put our stuff there. Another great feature are the deep closets in both the bedroom and the sitting area, so you have tons of space to put clothes, shoes and your luggage. Anyway, the room is on the 3rd floor and there is elevator and staircase access. We usually walked up and down but the elevator is a nice option should you need it. The room faces the square and we did find on Saturday night that it was a little noisy and guests at the hotel did not help. There were several people yelling in the hallways and slamming doors all night. This is a historic hotel and therefore not very well insulated. I guess people forget in their drunken stupors that there are others at the hotel who are trying to sleep. So, with that being said bear this in mind if staying on a weekend. Sunday night however was perfect and we both slept really well. The bed is so comfortable and cozy. We loved the location, and felt that the staff were extremely hospitable. We are looking forward to coming back next summer to enjoy the Hotel St. Michael again.

We stayed over on a Saturday night and really love this hotel. Would definitely stay here again when in Prescott. It's location is perfect. The weather was beautiful and we opened the window when we went to bed and turned off the rather noisy air conditioner...but the noise was really awful so back on with the air. It turned out that was the best route anyway as it got rather warm during the night. I was glad to have air. Our room faced Gurley street and was very cosy and comfy. The bed was great. Couldn't even notice my husband changing his sleep position. Breakfast is eggs, meat, potatoes and toast. Very good food. Included with the room. Parking is behind the hotel and is only $5. Great place to go and stay for a weekend!

Room Tip: It's gonna be noisy on a Saturday night no matter where you are in the hotel. Keep the air cond...

We were in town to settle our daughter into her college dorm and decided to stay here on the spur of the moment. We absolutely LOVE historical places. This place has original creaky wood floors and stairs, love it . Very well preserved, seemed like we were stepping back in time. We got a room on the second floor with an amazing view of the town square. Very comfortable room. The room was right above Whiskey Row which was quite noisy on a Saturday night. The price of the room included breakfast in their little restaurant. We loved the restaurant and the food! We really liked our stay and will DEFINITELY stay again" (just not on a Saturday night. Lol)

If you want luxury or a mini gym, go elsewhere but if you are looking for a great location and your own outdoor walking gym St. Michael's Hotel is it. The queen room nor the bathroom are large but the ambiance of this historic (1901) hotel and the very comfortable bed made up for that. What topped off our stay was the very professional and super friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. Because of a disability we were helped in and out of the hotel. A full breakfast comes with the room or a credit for a different choice on the menu is available at the Bistro on the premises. We found the Bistro staff also efficient and friendly to all. Because we knew some of the rooms facing Whiskey Row could be noisy we elected an inner room and had no noise at all. Customer care from the great front desk staff, Regina and David, and others plus the Bistro staff definitely motivated us to stay at St. Michael's whenever we are in Prescott. Thanks to everyone!

The Hotel St. Michael is an older hotel, but it's well maintained. I had a king room overlooking Gurley, one of the main streets. My first night was on St. Patrick's Day, so facing Gurley I heard every scream, shout, and laugh. Luckily the next day was a non holiday day, everything was quiet. The king bed was comfortable and there was a flat screen TV with many channels. The bathroom while old and was spotless. Had a shower/tub combo. My price included breakfast each morning. Great breakfast with choice of eggs, meats, breads, potatoes, fruit, and coffee all included. The hotel restaurant also serves the public and there were a lot of locals eating there each morning for breakfast. The front desk staff was great arranging for taxis and recommending restaurants. The hotel is in the center of everything, a great place to stay in the Historic District.

Right in the center of town on Whiskey Row so it was a little noisy with drunks on the street even though we were on the third floor. Room was really comfortable and spotlessly clean but I wouldn't have wanted to escape the hotel in a fire wearing one of the teeny bath towels. Staff were very friendly.
