My husband and I stayed here for one night on Sept. 17th. It is a charming old hotel with friendly service. No, the room wasn't large but it wasn't all that small either. When you stay in a hotel over eighty years old, why would you expect a large room? Hotels weren't built that way then. You stay here for the ambiance and appreciation of something old, unique and well preserved. If you want modern luxury you should pick a newer hotel. This hotel was comfortable and inviting with a beautifully authentic antique decor in the lobby. The room was clean, updated and charmingly decorated. The bathroom was small but adequate with all the right amentities Everything worked in the room and we had a decent night's sleep. The restaurant was lovely with great food and very friendly service. I couldn't ask for more, except maybe next time I would prefer not to stay in a room next to the front outdoor patio, since it was noisy outside our room until midnight. This hotel is a great location if you want to explore the downdown area and Whiskey Row a few blocks away.
