I am a long time traveler (try covering a 7 state sales territory) so I am used to the cookie cutter style hotels with their single serving accommodations. I am looking at you Hampton Inn. Don’t get me wrong they are good at what they do and that is catering to business travelers. The only problem that I had was it kind of ruined me for traveling with my family. It is not fun to stay in a hotel on vacation while you stay in them all of the time for work. That all changed once I stayed at the Motor Lodge. It is a very cool place with little surprises around every corner. You look around the room and think “Man, this would be cool if we could decorate our house like this”. But I think the best part was meeting the owners/operators. You are not greeted by someone that gets a paycheck from the Hiltons, you are greeted by two guys that put everything on the line to do something great. And you know what? They did. The place is amazing, and there were good times had by all. I will never stay at another place while visiting Prescott. Oh by the way, Prescott is a good time too. Great bars, restaurants, and shopping within walking distance from the Motor Lodge.

I can't say enough great things about the Motor Lodge. For starters, the owners are the most gracious hosts you'll ever find. We were greeted like old friends, and offered a glass of wine as we checked in (which we enjoyed on our little private patio). We brought our son with us, and as we entered our room we discovered a pack-and-play all set up with cozy bedding, and even one of his favorite books set inside it. Oh, and an Etch-a-Sketch to keep him entertained (which we will now have to purchase). :) My husband appreciated the humorous reading material in the bathroom, while I most enjoyed the free Wi-Fi and the kitchenette. The owners said the building has been there forever, but they have done a ton of remodeling and have modernized all the rooms while sustaining the character of its age. They were explaining some of their future projects, and I can't wait to come back and see the progress.

Joe and Brian gave great recommendations on coffee houses and restaurants, and Joe even offered us a ride downtown in their retro orange pickup truck, with their funky logo on the side. I really wanted to cruise around downtown in that thing, but my son freaked out about riding in the back, so we couldn't take advantage of the offer. :(

Sometimes I feel like small hotels dislike families, but we felt so welcome and my son certainly enjoyed himself. Joe and Brian really made us feel at home, and you can tell that they genuinely care about their guests' experience. My husband and I booked a room at the Lodge after our old standbys were full and now we will never go anywhere else in Prescott! It Is the kind of place you stumble upon and forever love. The property is unique and convienently located to downtown. The owners are super friendly and really aim to make your stay fun and relaxing. Our room was clean, very comfy and very cool. I cant say enough good things about this place about it it was very inexpensive, tons of character and just a great place to stay. Go, stay you will not be dissapointed!!!!

This updated "Motor Lodge" was a wonderful find after a long day's drive. It was a sight to behold with the cool graphic motor lodge sign and the orange motor lodge truck. The owners, Joe and Brian, were warm and friendly, welcoming us with a glass of wine and a choice of two rooms. We choose the very comfortable and larger of the two, although both rooms were great and the other had a fireplace. They suggested restaurants and offered to drive us the 4 blocks into the square but we wanted to walk after the long drive. We later sat on the front deck that overlooks a main street of this beautiful little town and watched Prescott go by. The sleep was peaceful in a great comfortable bed . It would have been nice to have a screened window to open but the room temperature was cooled and pleasant. The room had all the needed amenities plus nicer soaps and reading materials. Joe and Brian have renovated this old property by integrating the best original features with some stylish upgrades. They are nice guys who are still working to make this great place even better.
