“"prepare your room as if a GUEST in our home"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

This is the moto for this quaint, clean, cozy lodge which is more like a cottage. The small ltd no. of rooms reinforces the theme you are are GUEST. I've traveled the US and have always opted for small, B & B, and/or intimate lodging. This was a spontaneous decision and so pleased with the first night stayed a second. What a gift as it's always booked.

Kim greeted me with a genuine smile, and a choice of wine/bottle of beer along with healthy snacks of nuts, dark chocolate. She also reinforced the theme of BEing a guest in her home! The bed/pillows were the best instilling in me the inquiry to know what type of pillow they used. The linens did not smell of downey, and were soft. . The bath, the small refrig were tasteful with offerings of coffee, hot cocoa and herb tea.

The color scheme, the earthy soft colors, decorate this lodging which was a perfect retreat for this writer...wanting to stay longer! Each unit has it's own outdoor seating pending size of the room.

Room Tip: There are only 12 rooms sizes vary suggestions you MUST book early esp on the weekends all year long...

Remember taking the annual summer road trip in the wood paneled station wagon and after hours of saying "are we there yet?" you arrived at the classic 1970's motel along the side of main street of Small Town USA? This is the place where you used to stay - only BETTER!!!
So cool, comfy and inviting....and so fun! The proprietors are hometown boys (okay, Tempe and Scottsdale but it's the same!) and are as irresistible as the accommodations. Humble, charming.....the cottages oozes yesteryear decor (without the smell). The owner's cat is cute and he will undoubtedly join you as you sip wine on the front deck (highly recommended by the way). Yes, the motel is on the main road, yes the bathroom is a wee tight but the clean, comfortable walk down memory lane is WORTH IT!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are great I'd say - they all face the same courtyard and ours had an awesome be...

Could not have asked for a better experience. You need to try this place.
Brian was so welcoming. Our room was fabulous-bed was so comfortable.
Decor is retro and so unique.
Within walking distance of everything downtown.
The owners even let us tour the other rooms before we left so we have
our next one picked out!

Warm reception, awesome room, and an all over wonderful and unique place for your stay in Prescott! If you want something fun and different for your stay, this is it. All of the rooms are different and retro, and equipped with a coffee maker and a mini fridge. Where else are you greeted with a beer or wine and a bag of cookies upon check out? Nothing but fantastic!

This is our new in-state getaway! From check-in to check-out, we were made to feel special. Joe, Brian, and Kim make sure everyone has a wonderful stay. We received "welcome drinks" and enjoyed them on our fun patio - who knew a shopping cart could be so comfy. We not only received dinner recommendations, but reservations were made for us. Our room was cute, clean, and comfy and the lodge's tandem bikes were fun for touring around town. You can definitely tell that the lodge is a labor of love for Joe and Brian - our biggest disappointment is that we don't have the time to go up there as often as we would like.

My husband and I recently spent a couple of nights at The Motor Lodge in Prescott, AZ. I am sort of a 4/5 star hotel kind of person so I was skeptical of all of the excellent reviews of The Motor Lodge. First we were called in the early afternoon and advised that our room was ready for us (that is a first for me). When we arrived we were greeted with a cold beer which was enjoyable after a six hour drive. I describe the hotel as eclectic in a fun way. It was like going to stay at your grandmother's house 50 years ago. It was extremely clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much. Upon checkout we were sent on our way with some delicious chocolate chip cookies. I would stay at The Motor Lodge again on my next trip to Prescott!

Room Tip: We selected a suite which worked out well for us. There was a flat screen tv in a small living area...

When I was making our reservations I told Kim that we would be arriving late between 9-10 pm. She replied: "Your room assignment will be on the board by the office, the lights will be on in your room and there will be 2 cold beers in the fridge." Which is exactly what we found when we arrived. That's my kind of place! The decor was fun, the bed was incredibly comfortable and we felt very welcomed. Loved all the different items used as planters! Brian was very helpful about places to eat and things to do, so was Kim. There are bicycles and a kayak for patrons to use in the area. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: No there really is not a restaurant although all of Brian's and Kim's suggestions were spot...
