“Hip, chic and comfy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2011

Upon arrival we were greeted by our friendly host and offered a cold beer-- you can't beat that after a hot drive from Phoenix! Our room was comfy and clean and decorated in retro style. We had our own patio which was great for evening cocktails and morning coffee (which we were able to brew in the full sized coffee maker, and enjoy in over-sized ceramic mugs). Each of the 12 units has its own designated parking. The room was quiet, and the AC worked great. You are walking distance from Whiskey Row, which has all the action. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a relaxing stay... and when we checked out we got fresh baked chocolate chip cookies for the drive home! We will definitely be back!

The owners are very friendly, and really do sincerely care about the guests and their comfort. The rooms are retro, but with a modern feel and super clean! They even called us the day of our stay to see wha time we were arriving, and if we needed help finding our way. I would highly recommend this motel. I only wish I could have stayed another night, but they were booked. After seeing the service and hospitality, I see why!!!

What a cute place! The rooms are individual units, with a front porch. When we arrived we found two full glasses of wine wating for us in the refrigerator. We wished we could have stayed and enjoyed it longer. One night was not enough. Everytime my husband went to the ofice he returned with "fresh baked" chocolate chip cookies! If we ever get back to Prescott, we will definitely book this place!

We spent a weekend at The Motor Lodge and really got a kick out of the retro 50's, 60's decor. If you try to avoid the big chain hotels and look for unique hotels on your travels the Motor Lodge would definitely be a candidate. We had a room with a nice front deck and covered parking and some of the rooms have firepits outside their front doors. The owners are extremely friendly and very accomodating. We left an article of clothing behind and they very quickly returned it to us at no charge even though we offered to pay. The bathrooms are typical of the 60's motel style very small but our room was very clean and roomy had a very comfy bed, a wonderful fireplace and lots of light. It felt like staying in a cozy cabin. Even though it is on the edge of the main street it is an easy walk of just a few blocks to the center of town.

In my 30+ years as a Travel Agent, I've stayed in some of the best hotels in world. Most are at least 5 times the per night cost of The Motor Lodge! This property is one of my best experiences in all those years. It is very unique, spotlessly clean and offers excellent customer service. This property was originally summer cabins circa 1906. The current owners have left no detail unattended. And the bed compares to the luxury bedding I've experienced in 5 star resorts. The large decks outside the rooms make for a perfect evening enjoying Prescott's cooler temps. Yes, as you'll read in other reviews, the baths are small with the exception of one room that has a shower for two. One morning I discovered home-baked (yes, by the owners) chocolate chip cookies waiting for us. The in-room fridge and coffee maker are added bonuses. Your choice of coffee and teas, all complimentary. I've just booked a return trip to The Motor Lodge in the two bedroom apartment - it has a huge private deck! Don't even think of staying elsewhere in Prescott! You'll be cheating yourself out of an awesome, unique experience.

Room Tip: Book a room or suite with a fireplace!

Not enough nice things to say about the Motor Lodge! Joe and Brian have taken the 1980's Laura Ashley look back to mid-century quirky luxury! My husband and I spent one night here in August. Room No 6 was awesome! The bed and nightstands were from the ol' Stardust in Las Vegas. The king bed had crowns on it :O) Lots of cool period stuff in the room, including Joe's grandpa's paint-by number of the naked lady! Wine to welcome us and hot cookies to say goodbye! Reservations made for us at Papa's. Food was wonderful! If you are looking for the Hilton, don't stay here! On the other hand, if you are looking for Prescott hospitality and a blast from the past, this is it! Thanks so much Joe and Brian! You guys rock!!!

Hosts Joe and Brian were great - the bed was wonderful - the welcoming wine was plentiful - the parting cookies were delicious!

Oh, the location is great, Brian's restaurant recommendations were spot on -

Early 1900's ambiance with 21 century comfort - who can ask for anything more?
