“Whiskey Row Has Some Good Times...But....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2010

Other times it's nothing but drunks that are there.

Lately, in the last 5 months, it's been pretty dead around there. They don't get as many customers at the bars there like they used to. The entertainment isn't all that great anymore like it used to be.

And if you're single, it is boring to go. Most people who are there have someone they are with and such. It's hard to find any singles there. Better off being in Phoenix if you're single.

But BirdCage, Coyote Joe's, and Matt's is good. Jersey Lilly's is good, but not with that mean bartender they have in there (he's an older guy with a mustache and always wears a tie). Terrible personality there.

“Whiskey Row has Late Night Food now. CHUB'S Open Till 3am Every Day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2009

Finally! Late night food on Whiskey Row? Chub's. A new sandwich shop in Prescott, AZ. We stopped in around 11 pm. one night and had one of the best sandwiches ever!

Someone finally get's it.

Chub's is a great place to get a chubby. That's what they call the really large sandwich at Chub's. A CHUBBY. Look out Subway, Blimpies and Quizno's. There is a new sandwich in Prescott.

Good luck Chub's. I told you it was the greatest sandwich ever!

“Matts salon! Veterans treated like dirt!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2009

I was in there about a year ago and saw two highly decorated veterans booted for talking to loud. It seem the hippie owner dont like veterans. Veterans are welcome at the legion downtown and most other bars. I hope they dont mind me posting the truth. Maybe only cream puff reviews are allowed.

“Step back into time.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2008

I never would have expected to have such a great time here, but the historic saloons of Prescott are really interesting! We bar-hopped up and down Whiskey Row, had a few beverages of course, enjoyed the scenery, and even shopped a bit. We loved Jersey Lily's, Hotel St. Michael and the Bird Cage is, well, an experience!

Prescott is a truly charming town with a very authentic, wild west feel. The shops are cute and the people friendly. Prescott is a great place to spend an afternoon.

“Whisky Row: fun, interesting, and wonderfully western”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2003

If you want the feel of stepping back into time, and love the ambiance of the wild west, then you'll like Whisky Row. While modern enough, (how can we avoid it?), the rugged big bars that remain unchanged for the most part, are a great place to go. I liked the Palace the best for dinner, the largeness of Matts Saloon for great country music acoustics, and a sense of space. Across the street is the square which has beautiful trees and grass and places to roam and sit down. During the day, the antique and western shops are a draw. I bought leather goods, and my favorite, southwestern jewelry. In the early evenings, the bars have cheaper prices til about 6 or 7pm and about 8, the music begins on the wkends. Around the corner are a variety of restaurants, and on the other side of the square as well. If you like small city western life for a casual getaway, leave your suit and tie and high heels at home, as the folks there are very casual and relaxed and the pace is definitely slower than the rat race of the big city life. I recommend it for a comfy cozy change, and if you love the simple pleasures in life the most and don't need the ritz or broadway shows or Vegas. It spoke to me, and Yes I'd return. I also rented a wonderful little car and that made tourin' around alotta fun.
