“The usual Roy's experience. Excellent as usual”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

My wife and I were staying at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge for the week of Valentine's day and frequented the happy hour every night. $6 Roy's appetizers and drinks from 4pm to 6pm can't be beat. Sit inside our outside at the fire pit and listen to music on the weekends or just enjoy the tropical gardens of the Marriott pools.

Our waiter was excellent and funny enough was a Boston Celtic's fan (we're from Boston) as he indicated that he played basketball and enjoyed watching the Celtic's players like Garnet and Rhondo. He was always pleasant and never too pushy. We also met a visiting GM Josh (from San Diego) who has just started that day and felt very welcomed and appreciated.

Dinner was excellent as usual the night we dined in the restaurant. Great timing and food was spot-on for flavor and temperature. The only thing that was different than our other Roy's visits was that we weren't offered "special" tasting samples from the Chef. It seemed that every other Roy's we visit while travelling we're always offered a little something extra to taste and sample. This wasn't the case even though our reservation indicated we were there for Valentine's day (the following day) which is also our anniversary. No big deal, but out of character for a Roy's. However, they did send over a nicely decorated anniversary dessert and signed card which is very characteristic of Roy's.

Highly recommended restaurant. Start at 4pm with some appetizers and drinks, then move into the dining room for an excellent meal to finish up.

“Friday Nite Fun”

The food and the service were impeccable. The atmosphere was perfect with the cooperating outdoor temps and the great jazz band playing.

“Incredible experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I chose Roy's for dinner on our last night at the resort, and what a good decision. We sat outside to better enjoy the evening. They set up some Warner's nearby as it was a bit chilly. We started with drinks at the bar, I had a Hawaiian martini and she had a Mai tai, both great. We split a wonderful pear salad. My wife had a filet, cooked rare to medium rare and it was perfect. I had the mahi mahi which was also perfectly done. We finished with bourbon old fashioneds for a wonderful finish, these were also very well made. Server was extremely friendly and attentive.

“Can't beat this place for food and ambience!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

First I need to let you know that this place actually CARES about your experience!

My husband and I choose Roy's for Valentines dinner. The food was wonderful as always but the service was horrible and the kitchen staff was just off that particular night. We received an email the next day thanking us for choosing Roy's and when I informed the restaurant of the service issues they not only apologized by calling us but wanted us to come back so they could make it up to us!

We did just that and had the experience you would expect from Roy's. Everything was exceptional, from the waiter to the food it was PERFECT just like all the other times we have dined there.

They had one off night and cared enough to make it up and boy did they!

Bob, thank you for caring we will be back very soon!

Had a four course meal that was extrodinary. Great service, outdoor seating around a firepit. Nothing to dislike.
