“Great Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2011

My stay was more than I expected. The room was great, very large with a very comfy king size bed, desk and sitting area, the staff was very nice and the breakfast had many things to choose from, it also included Starbucks coffee and many varieties of tea. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is well situated but in great need of refurbishing. The rooms do not have security safe and I had some items of great value (sentimental!) stolen from my room. The hotel did nothing to help me locate my items. I would not stay there again.

The Hotel Highland is a decent hotel in Phoenix located in close proximity to everything (by car!) and it has all the basics. There is free wireless internet, which is a huge plus, however it's difficult to access, requiring 3-5 tries to get logged in which can be very frustrating! There is breakfast with Starbucks coffee, which is great, but it was hard to find bowls since they don't put out new ones very often. The rooms are nice, and I found them to be very clean. I prefer hard beds and the beds were soft so I didn't like that. Also, the pillows are hard and too big so I slept without a pillow after the first night because my neck and back were hurting. This was just my particular preference, other people might like the beds and pillows!

Overall the hotel was just average, there was nothing remarkable about it but nothing that was terrible.

Dear Shaylikespink,

Thanks you for your review of your recent stay with us. I am glad you found your room nice and clean. I will mention to my staff about kitchen bowls being checked more often. I am also happy to report that we are in the process of completely upgrading the wireless internet service by increasing bandwidth ten-fold, and replacing all of the wireless access points. We look forward to seeing you again the next time you are in the Phoenix area.

Sincerely,
Kevin Barbour, General Manager

The hotel is super clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and efficient. Kevin, the GM, was extremely helpful this morning when I was trying to extend my stay by one night. He accommodated my request quickly and made it simple. The breakfast is excellent quality and everything looks fresh. The equipment in the fitness room is very modern. The location is perfect and I will come back here with the family next time I visit Phoenix. Thank you Kevin and all your staff!

Took a chance staying here and so glad I tried it. This hotel is in a great Phoenix location in the Biltmore corridor with easy access to the sights. It looks basic from a distance, but the closer you look the better it gets. The huge rooms are comfortable and well furnished. The front desk team is very welcoming and there's a great lobby bar with a poolside fire pit.

We stayed here for 3 nights on our trip to Sedona. The location was fantastic – close to freeways, shops, restaurants and even some 24 hour grocery stores. The room was remodeled, clean and serviced frequently

This is one of the good breakfast deals I have seen with quite a variety of food available. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

I tried this hotel based mostly on the recommendations on this website. The hotel has a very convenient location. The staff were all very friendly and the service was also very good. There was always someone cleaning something. Their rates are very reasonable for the area (Arizona Biltmore and Ritz Carlton are neighbors). The rooms are spacious and clean. One minor complaint is that there is insufficent storage space-limited drawers and a very small closet. The pool area is nice and usually very quiet. The breakfast buffet is nothing special, but adaquate. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. All in all, a good choice for the price.

Room Tip: There are only 2 elevators, so a ground floor room is a good choice.
