The hotel has some nice pool areas because we were on the eve of 4th of july there were a lot of families bus also couples who were more party people. You have a main pool near your room and a water park. In the main pool it filled with beer drinking loud people. Not my cup of thea so I would avoid this hotel during holiday weekends. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The water park has a long lazy river, sport pools and a general ppo but no area were you can really swim. Breakfastbuffet is avaible for $ 15 and the reception has a list of nereby restaurants avaible.

We stayed at the Squaw Peak resort from 6/20 through 6/27. The Conceige, David, is the BEST thing this hotel has going for them. He upgraded us from a standard suite to a Ambassador suite (no charge) it was my husband's birthday. He was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The lobby is very slow and needs a lot of improvement. The hotel itself is a little confusing at first but once you get your bearings its set up nicely. If you are arriving on a weekend plan on hunting for a place to park, unless you have a Casista. The pool area is open to the locals and the parking is scarce. The beds were extremely comfortable and rooms were clean. The food at the Hole in Wall is typical resort pricing but very good. The waitstaff is friendly and remembered us each time we came in. The large pool does have a lot of kids but the smaller pools between the buidings are quieter. We saw the pool but never went (average temp was 110 while we were there).

We did a mini stay-cation at this resort. The breakfast area was quiet, but the staff was slow and unfriendly--maybe they didn't like us having children (who behaved themselves btw). The pool was nice and refreshing. The room was very nice with a nice view of the lush greenery. The overall hotel has gone down hill a little bit from the prestige it had 10-15 years ago. I would recommend newer/more updated places to stay over this hotel.

Was in Arizona for a wedding in Flagstaff, and decided to take the kids on a mini vacation to Phoenix. A friend had told me about Squaw Peak many years ago.
Our room was beautiful, it was a King Suite, my 21 yo son slept on the sofa sleeper in the LR and had his own TV. My 17 and 2 yo daughters shared the king bed with me and we had a TV in the BR too.
Our balcony hung right over the very loud central AC units, which threw out even more heat...thankfully it was only 100 degrees that weekend.
The River Ranch was very crowded (as it is open to the public not just guests), but we enjoyed it...it is open from 5 am to 11 pm, which was nice for my older kids who can go go go. The pools and the lazy river were clean and the staff was around to make sure kids were not getting out of hand. There was a wasp nest somewhere close to the lazy river and there was a child that got stung.
Our room came with 4 passes to the River Ranch and my little one didn't need one so my nephew (who was at another hotel came and hung out). Also, you can get the resort value pack for 2.25 cents more per day and that gives you an extra pass, so my brother came along too. The value pack was so worth it, we got passes to the fitness center, tennis courts, and the miniture golf course (which we didn't use).

I stayed at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort while attending a meeting in the area. What a wonderful hotel! Breakfast at the Hole in the Wall Saloon was over the top. The bucket of assorted breads set the stage for a wonderful dining experience. Also, after a busy day the pool area offers a great retreat to relax and unwind from the days activities. I would definitely recommend a visit to this hotel!
