This wasn't a bad hotel to stay at. I arrived about 11pm for a two day stay. Quick, friendly check in with no problems. Both rooms I booked were ready for me when I arrived. The A/C was pumping and the rooms were a nice 70 degrees inside (as opposed to the 90+ it was outside). Staff was friendly and took care of everything as quick as they could. The bathrooms in both rooms were clean, as well as the rest of the room. No weird or scary people to be spotted anywhere. Having a Denny's, Starbucks, Jack in the Box and McDonalds all within walking distance (and yes, I trusted the area enough to walk) was nice. The Wi-Fi worked and connected flawlessly. All in all, it was a pretty average hotel, but clean. I would stay there again and not even think twice about it.

We stayed at the La Quinta Thomas road for three nights after flying into Phoenix Airport for the start of a 3 week trip through California. In general the hotel was ok and reasonably clean. It does however get noisy at nights with trucks manouevring on the lot quite frequently. The neighborhood is probably not the best, we did however not feel unsafe while we were there.
The staff were quite friendly as well, particularily in organizing us a room despite our booking beeing cancelled by La Quinte because we did not arrive before 18:00 even though we had indicated late arrival when booking and had it guaranteed with a credit card.
The location of the motel is convenient, if you are travelling by car. Using public transportation (busses) from downtown Phoenix and particularily Scottsdale takes forever, so i recommend to use a cab to get around.

Very average Spartan rooms. Neighborhood is grim, expect hookers and other low lifes. Other than a Denny's and a Macdonald's in the nearby Chevron station, you are SOL for food. The large Phoenix fire station DIRECTLY across the street is another nice amenity (if you get shot).
Otherwise the sirens in the middle of the night are amusing. An aging property in a deteriorating neighborhood. The current management does it's best however.
