“One Night was Enough”

No Hot Water - that was a surprise. There's nothing like a cold shower to wake you up. Carpet weirdly stained. I didn't want to remove my shoes for fear of what might be in the carpet. The breakfast options were way below other motels of same chain.

Our first impression of this hotel was ok until we entered the lobby at around 6 PM on a Saturday afternoon in November for a 3 night stay. The lobby smelled like smoke. We quickly got concerned about our room however we were happily surprised that it did not smell of smoke.

Upon settling in the room, we noticed there were no table and chairs in the room, so the corner was empty which is unusual for this type of hotel. There were no hand towels in our room so we had to go and obtain them. The sink was clogged and the water kept rising as we used it. There was no alarm clock. The bed was hard like a rock which kept me awake off and on throughout the night.

Our tv was broken on the right side. It looked like it had actually been dropped on the ground. Most of the channels were not working and some didn't come through. Of the very few channels they did have, the sound was awful. As soon as you turned up the volume, it sounded like the speakers were blown. The one night we wanted to watch CBS, it was nowhere to be found. A local channel was not available!

Whatever happened in the afternoon and evening hours, they cleaned up the smoke for the morning breakfast which was a typical continental fair expected at this type of hotel.

Sunday night we noticed there were guests next door. The walls were so thin that we could hear their phone ringing off the hook at 6 AM presumably for a wake up call. This hotel was by no means full. There were about 12-15 people maximum staying at any given night when we stayed there. Choosing to put people next door to each other when the hotel is empty shows lack of concern for the guests which became more obvious as our stay progressed.

Upon our return to the room on Monday evening after a full day, we noticed the room had not been touched. The bed was not made, the towels were not changed, the garbage had not been taken out, and nothing was cleaned. When I called the office to let them know, I was asked if I wanted towels. There was no amount of worry, concern or care in the voice of the lobby attendant. I had to go to the lobby to obtain towels. They have no one bringing anything to your room. Again the lobby smelled of smoke. I was told the room will be cleaned tomorrow which made no sense because we were leaving.

We were staying with friends for the NASCAR PIR fall race. There are 4 of us in the room. When we get there, there are two towels. My husband goes down and explains that you knew there are 4. We need a whole set of towels for each person. They bring us 3 bath, two wash clothes and say no more hand towels. The next day I tell them they do not have to make the bed or tidy but we do need clean towels for everyone. We come back at 3PM and dirty towels are gone but not a clean towel!! Husband calls desk/30 min later I call desk and want towels now. Can't even wash hands. They come with 2 towels of each!!! He even said remember 4 people. Tell her we need two more of each. No more hand towels. Leave the next day. What is your problem. This a business and towels are part of the service that you provide. And the carpet was so dirty. This is the second Wynddham that the carpet was sooo bad. Had to put blanket down and then my service dog's bed. Would not allow her to lay anywhere else on the floor,. The front desk was very nice. But the last morning had no plates for the toast!
