We went to Phoenix for my daughter's graduation and she wanted to celebrate by doing something fun. I was really apprehensive about doing anything adventurous, being 57 and out of shape. But she (along with my son-in-law, his mother and another of my daughter's friends and her husband) talked me into the Polaris Ranger tour with Mike and Jeff. I had just had a stress test, so I figured I'd live through it....
Boy, I had the time of my life! We left at 4pm after getting instructions and advice from them. We drove in 2 of the vehicles with the guides accompanying us on 4-wheelers, and we went up and down the canyon trails, through rocks, sand and water, going places I didn't think a rabbit could go. We visited a ghost town, an ancient Indian fort, with them taking lots of pictures and videos all the while. We came back in the evening around 9pm, complete with dust goggles and headlights, down an old stagecoach trail. How cool is that?
Mike and Jeff made it loads of fun and gave us lots of information about the area's history and lore. They were both very professional, as well as warm, friendly and entertaining. They took great care of us, providing us with snacks and drinks and also made CD's for us to take home. I would love to go back- next time for a longer tour, maybe even an overnite trip, staying at a cabin in the mountains. This trip was definitely the best time I've ever spent on a tour.
