“Fantastic place for fish & chips”

If you are wanting an upscale restaurant with healthy food, look somewhere else. But if you want a great "hole in the wall" place where you can enjoy good, old time fish & chips, this is it! We try and go here to eat every time we happen to fly into Phoenix around a meal time. It's not real far from the airport. It's been around for about 50 years, and there's a reason - it's just great. Sure, the atmosphere is nothing to speak of, and it's not a new, upscale place, but it's still great fish & chips. It may be old, but I've always seen it clean. Our extended family loves to go here. It's a good old stand-by that I always enjoy.

“Not what we expected”

Wanted to try this place after reading the reviews. Arrived around 730 in the evening. Parking lot was full so figured we made a good choice; wrong! Insided was dirty. Had to clean our booth and move the trash that was underneath. My wife had the fish and chips; I had the 4 piece shrimp dinner. No taste to the shrimp; way too much breading. Tasted the fish and it wasn't bad. Coleslaw was okay. Cold fries and flat soft drinks. Don't know if the place has changed owners but it definitely wasn't close to being decent fried seafood. Very dissapointed!

“GREAT Fish And Chips Best Fried Clams”

OK it looks old but the paint is always fresh grade A health on the inside clean friendly and some of the best fried seafood in the valet- you are not around for 40 year if you serve junk-this can be a real busy place week days from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m big Honwywell plant down the street-worth the wait in any case- big hunks of cod the best fried clams I have ever had all at a good price great sauces

“Everything fried”

I really liked the fish and shrimp. The story has it that people line up outside the building to get dinner, so we went around 4:00. It was empty, which was nice sine there were 9 of us. Everything on the menu is fried it seems. If you are up for that, you'll enjoy it.

“Great food”

This is a very non descript restaurant with no atmosphere in a run down neighborhood but the food is to die for. We stop here whenever we are near the airport and are never disappointed. We have been coming here for years. My hubby likes the fried shrimp and the cocktail sauce, but I like the fish and fries. Sooooo good. The coleslaw is great!! not just some cabbage, it actually has a sauce on it. The 2-piece fish and chips is a lot of food. It is a walkup window and wait to be called to pick up your order kind of place. But it could be worth your drive. The group across from us said they had been coming there for 20 years. Not that says a lot. Give it a try.
The prices are average--2 piece fish and chips $7.25 with cole slaw and extra $1.95(worth it though)
