This is one of the most unique restaurants that I have ever been to. The server brought biscuits and fry bread with regular whipped butter as well as cinnamon butter, both excellent. We got the rattlesnake appetizer (which comes with fried cactus as well) which was delicious. Then we got the Cowboy Style for each of us, which gives a sample (huge platter, by the way). The sampler provided pork ribs, steak kabobs, swordfish kabobs, BBQ chicken, large fried shrimp, potatoes, corn, and coleslaw. The steak kabobs were succulent and juicy, the rib meat fell right off the bone. The chicken was a little dry, but otherwise the food was very good. I would definitely go back.
I was actually surprised after my visit to read the reviews on here saying the food was horrible. I think it all depends on what you get. I truly enjoyed my dining experience, not just for the food, but also for the metal slide to get into the dining room, the great service (we all had water, and my glass never got empty, the server kept coming buy to top off the water), I was very impressed.
The menus can also be taken home as a souvenir and they have information about the history of the place. It is a unique experience and worth a visit. It is a little pricey (the Cowboy Sampler is about $21 per person), so be prepared for that, but it was worth the experience.
We also were celebrating my husband's birthday. They brought him a cowboy hat with an Arizona flag handkerchief, a large eclair with candles and sang Happy Birthday to him. He loved the experience, and got to keep the hat and handkerchief!
