Perfect for young professionals- incredible staff ( shot out to Shane and Denny) , good restaurant, philosophy products in room, free bottle of wine with every room and 24 hours from Check in to Check out which might be the coolest hotel policy ever. Good job guys!

Thank you so very much for your wonderful review.... and for the shout out for the excellent work of two staff members... just to note, a free bottle of wine does not come with every room (perhaps you were special, or it was a special occasion?), but we are working on implementing a manager's hosted wine hour, with Daniel Pina, our guest services director who is also a certified sommelier. Come back soon and see the improvements we're working on...

Thanks again for the great review!

I want to compliment the staff during the day who tried to promote the hotel as much as they could, but that is where the good experience stops. The rooms feel like dungeons with white brick painted walls and a non-opening old dirty metal framed window. The Jr. suite was a bed and a "chair." Seriously a chair! The bathroom was tiny with poor lighting and an old walnut veneer door. It felt like a hostel or a dorm. Now the pool area was allowed to let the drunks from the bar sit outside and keep us awake on a Sunday night until midnight, that was appreciated and so restful. Dirty 3 star at best, never, never, never again.

The Clarendon is no more than a 1 star hotel. The Junior suite is no better than a single room. The sitting area has no decent furniture. There are two TVs but only one remote. The bathroom area is a very small, just 25 square feet. The small sink is located in the bedroom area. There is no counter space. The closet has no door, just a curtain. The bathrobes are cheap terrycloth

Thank you for your review, though it's always helpful to let us know how your stay is going while still on property. Often issues are easily remedied and the resolution will exceed your expectations. Our wonderful staff represent the best in the industry and they absolutely love to make all guests happy. We are very serious about our commitment to improvement and your feedback about the property is key to us moving forward.

We're a four star property across all booking sites and exceed four star requirements. We have an award winning on site restaurant, room service, spa, 24 hour fitness center, rooftop SkyDeck, Oasis Pool and Cabanas. We also offer a lot of amenities without extra charges (covered parking, in room coffee service, unlimited bottled water & snacks, wi - fi, ironing station, electric car charging and even international calling at no additional cost!)

We have several room types: Deluxe, Junior Suite and Pool View Suite. Though you mentioned Junior, it sounds like you stayed in a Pool View Suite, which does feature a separate living room area and two flat screens. Our Deluxe rooms are roomy at 325 sq ft and our Pool View Suites are really spacious at 500 sq ft. In the living room area there is a pull out sofa bed, a table and chairs, a counter and barstool and additional chair. What type of furnishings would you prefer to see in this area? The bedroom has either a King bed or two Double beds, all super comfortable (guests absolutely RAVE about them!) with some of the best linens on the market. What would you like to see changed in the bedroom?

I agree that the bathrooms need improvement and we're working on this right now. We've already installed new mirrors and lighting and will be updating the other aspects of the bathroom shortly. Most of the closets are being fitted with doors as I write this. The bathrobes are also continually replaced and we'll look into how a less than perfect one ended up in your room.

We hope that you'll consider staying with us in the future, we'd love another opportunity to show all the improvements we've made since your stay with us.

The Clarendon is very clean and nicely decorated. Comfy beds and pillows. The pool area is really nice, as well. It was my first visit to Phoenix, but the area of the hotel seems really nice, clean and safe.

Ordinarily I would not stay at this level on business, but we tried it once based on terrific price. Rooms were large, but sort of :institutional", with painted cinder block walls. Bathrooms had been renovated satisfactorily. Bed was comfortable, amenities are OK. Elevator (only one) broke down several times, but hotel is only 4-5 stories.

Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Free parking. Free Internet, but slow.

Very young crowd, appeals to 20-30 year olds. Has a look that mimics a "W:" or "Aloft", but still seemed lacking in appeal.

Restaurant is a Mexican-oriented 4 star eatery, very crowded on weekends, with exceptionally good food at very modest prices. Reservations recommended on weekends.

Hotel is located out of downtown, but convenient to Central Ave and Indian School Rd, so Scottsdale is an easy 10 minute drive.

Room Tip: Avoid anything over the restaurant. very noisy. Try for a back, high floor.

I stayed here for 6 days in January and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My room was very large, well stocked and a with comfy bed for a good nights sleep after a busy day of sightseeing. The large pool was delightful, with magical starlight emitting from the bottom in the evening. Lots of very comfy cabanas for relaxing or lunching by the pool. The staff was terrific and had lots of suggestions for all that Phoenix and the surrounding areas has to offer. The restaurant, just off the lobby, appeared to be 'the in place to go', as it was busy from the time it opened until it closed in the evening. The food was excellent, and the portions very generous.
The location was perfect, I look forward to staying here the next time I visit Phoenix.
