“Very pleasant stay - would recommend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

Rooms are clean and well appointed. Bed is comfortable. Staff very friendly and eager to please. Always smiling. It is a steal for the price. We will be returning to Phoenix again next year and will not hesitate to return to this hotel.

Decided to stay in town but get out of the house and enjoy a different part of town. Looked up the Palomar and saw that it put you downtown near great food, drink and nightlife. They had a great rate for a Saturday night and so I booked. BLOWN AWAY. I loved it! The king suit was gorgeous, huge, excellently decorated and just amazing. The bathroom was magnificent with a huge walk in shower and soaking tub within the walk-in shower. So relaxing. The pool is intimate with drink and food service and nice view on the 3rd floor. There is further construction going on to the hotel, you would have no idea. It is not dusty, noisy, dirty or anything along those lines.

Room Tip: King suit, corner spot was worth it to me.

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay near Chase Field and this was thee place, a 10 minute walk! I loved the room. We had to pay $27 for Valet parking but we didn't mind at all. The room is very comfy and the staff was awesome. We didn't utilize the pool, bar & restaurant area but we did order for room service (was pretty pricey). Overall it was a GREAT stay, we will be staying again.

I'm a Kimpton member, so I've stayed at many of them and I generally like the brand. This one is in a brand-new building that isn't completed yet. So getting from the hotel to the parking garage requires you to drive around a giant crane. Getting back is just as complicated: you either have to walk in the street or through another building and then back to the hotel. There is construction material and scaffolding everywhere.
Parking is expensive for Phoenix: $20 regular or $27 valet. If you're seeing a client in a nearby building, see if you can park there instead.
The night I was there, the wifi took 10 minutes to connect, the televisions were not working, the bellman would not leave my room although I was on the phone. So some kinks to be worked out. I'm a little nervous about what time construction will start in the morning. Also, the sushi bar in the building is terrible (but that is another story.)
The lobby and rooms are very nice. The decor is lovely. It's clean. The location is perfect if you need to be downtown. But it will be a while before this hotel will be really ready for prime time.
Also, DEAR HOTEL DESIGNERS: when you put the only safe on a shelf that is 6 feet above the floor and the only chair is a swivel desk chair, someone is going to fall and sue you. Just saying.

Room Tip: This is on a busy street so higher floors will be quieter. Not much in the way of views here, so don...

I've quickly become a Kimpton junkie, all of their hotels are pet friendly so we don't have to leave our "babies" at home.

Palomar Cityscape is a lovely property with a great location. My hubby and "babies" visited here for the annual Dbacks Bark in the Park event and we had a wonderful experience at the hotel.

The staff was lovely and attentive. The room was spacious and very comfortable and the rooftop pool was beautiful.

The next time we are in town we will definitely stay here.

Room Tip: Skyline Corner Suites are the best

This was a wonderful find in Downtown Phoenix. Friendly staff, great modern rooms (been open just over 12 months), a manager's reception each night, grab and go coffee in the morning and a fabulous pool area on the 3rd floor. Best of all it is only minutes away from the Car Rental Return. Be prepared for some building noise as condos are still being constructed above the hotel and there's a $27 per night valet charge for your vehicle. Well worth a visit!

One thing you can expect at a Kimpton is excellent service. The Palomar is no exception. The concierge Suzanne was excellent and was like a friend. At check-in Marco made sure we had everything we needed. We stayed for three nights. The location can't be beat if you are going to a Dbacks or Suns game, you are right there! The rooms are great. We had a nice skyline view. The cityscape is like a little oasis in the middle of downtown. The Arrogant Butcher and Copper Blues there had a great happy hour with great appitizers. The Breakfast Club right out the guests lobby was excellent and a great value! At the hotel we had the Bass for two, it had the best flavors. The menu may seem odd but just try it, they are really into flavor and something different. The coffee in the lobby was awesome. We were on the ninth floor and did hear a lot of racket in the daytime, Monday and Tuesday. Nights and weekends were quiet. Not a real biggie. The only thing I didn't like was the pool area and bar where closed on Saturday night for a private party. I just don't understand how a hotel can close a major amenity to their paying guests. Anyway the Palomar was very enjoyable and hope to be back. This will be a very popular hotel.
