The trail to go up to Camel back was incredible hard work…Do not take children with you to the last part …super dangerous…take a lot of water to drink….better do not go with shorts but light pants..hat…and lots of suncreams…be careful on your way down…we saw people falling down…a fantastic adventures and will do it again !!!!!

“Perfect 360 view from Camelback Mountain rewarding a strenuous climb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

Brilliant, yet quite challenging + demanding hike. Don't try in flip flops or heels!!! 360 views from top are amazing. Last part of hike is more of rock climbing and quite challenging ... be careful! Start early to avoid highest heat, and for sure never go without water.

“Wow! What a view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

Having read all the other reviews I was expecting a tough hike and it was challenging but by no means impossible. Hike maybe an under statement as definitely more of a climb in places but well worth the view and the sense of achievement. Take water- even in February it was hot

“Wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

Amazing views plus the signage (e.g. snakes, bees) and treacherous climbs are enough to make the average hiker a bit scared (which adds to the fun) so I'd recommend it.....but unlike me, leave your purse at home, bring plenty of water in a backpack so your hands are free if you trip and start your walk early! A fun and challenging hike and it's free! It's a bit out of the way (unless you have a car and don't mind parking 1/2 mile away) so I took a taxi for $8 right to the start of the path which was perfect!

“Nothing like seeing the entire Valley from top of its most recognizable landmark”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

Other than the Grand Canyon or Sedona...most people would comment and recognize this landmark...heck, you see it clearly when you fly in during daylight hours...so why not go check it out in person?
You can walk around the base, and take cool photos or even wander up either trailhead...the parking and facilities and trail went through a major rennovation, so it's even easier to enjoy. Just STAY on the trail! Every year, some foolish people that go off the trail (quite a bit, not a few feet or yards) and get stuck somewhere we they have to be rescued. Also, as always in AZ, bring plenty of water wtih you!
Enjoy! And, if you make it up to the top, some of the most spectacular vistas you've ever seen will be your reward...especially if you're able to make it before sunrise. Do NOT go for sunset...it will be too hard to get all the way down safely before it's dark.
