We were short on time and wanted some adventure on a business trip. Rented some trek hybrid bikes, biked the 22 miles to Camelback early in the morning from our resort, climbed it and were sitting at lunch at the Biltmore by noon before riding the miles back to our resort in Desert Ridge. Being from hilly appalachian country "hiking" a mountain means hilly vegetated trails... this was using your hands to climb up over steep rocky areas - totally different than anything my husband or I had ever done, we loved it. Beautiful at the top, very glad we decided to do this, but I don't recommend it if you arent' in moderately good physical shape. Because of biking in the heat, we had brought plenty of water and gatorade and were prepared. Recommend it for the adventurous that want to do something a lot of people won't do on a vacation!
