“Oasis in the desert”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

We arrived at Embassy Sutes Phoenix feeling hot and tired. It was 114Degrees and we had travelled all day . We were please to find our room was cool and comfortable. After a cold shower and a change we joined the group in the bar for the free nibbles and drinks at "happy hour" . This went on for about 2 hrs, where you could order a drink and just give a tip...fantastic I say. The staff was amazing, the units were great, the morning omelets were some of the best I ever had. The golf course that the hotel sits on is a great place to golf...so I hear, too hot for me to even go outside.

Room Tip: Have breakfast here, its fantastic.

We had the best time at Embassy Suites in early January. The staff was amazing, the units were great, the morning omelets were some of the best I ever had. The drinks and appetizers were fantastic and the people were fun. The golf course that the hotel sits on is a great place to golf.

Room Tip: If you don't smoke, don't let them put you on the 6th floor. We were given a room on the 6t...

When checking out we found overcharges on the billing: Room with Vue billed extra even though not requested, nor were we notified in advance; rate on reservation not honored until we compained. We had to return to the hotel the day after we checked out to speak to the hotel assistant manager..luckily we were still in the city. We were told that some of the charges could not be corrected because they were "permanently in the system" and were therefore locked in.
We sent an email to the corporate head office and 2 weeks later received an email asking how we found our experience with the corporate customer representive....no communication was received from any customer representative.
In summary, make sure your agreement with the hotel is clear and states the rates you are expecting to be honored.

If the price is right this is a great place to stay. The rooms are really starting to show their age. The lobby is nice but my room was quite drab. I was without hot water on two occasions which was a major inconvenience. I was offered a free drink to compensate for this, nice gesture but I'd rather have a hot shower. I heard a pipe broke causing the water issue so I don't think it's an ongoing concern. There are some good restaurants and shopping in the area. Overall, for the right price i'd recommend his place, otherwise I might look around.

Great news! We have currently submitted a capital "wish list" for the majority of the goods in the room to be replaced. I can assure you, this time next year the rooms will be MUCH different!!!

We look forward to your return, and to show you the improvements!

Kind Regards,

Evan Danziger

I stayed at this hotel on business, it was chosen for me, I would not recommend it. First of all they seem to only have one luggage cart, and it was not available for our 7 suitcases. Secondly the rooms are very out of date. The electrical outlets were not reliable, and the wireless internet was weak. Also there was no wired internet connection option in the room. The fitness area was tiny and not well equipped. The closest restaurant was a 20 minute walk away in a strip mall. If you are of a retired age and like golfing this would probably be a suitable place to stay, or if you were entertaining your grand kids for a weekend, they have a nice pool.

Amazing staff and mgmt. met all my needs. Breakfast and managers reception was wonderful. There beds gave me a perfect sleep. i recommend the club sandwich in the lounge, Amazing!! The hotel is right next to a golf course and a nice shopping mall. !5 minutes North and you will run into desert ridge mall which is a nice outdoor mall. Then also 20 minutes South and you will run into Scottsdale fashion square which has very nice upper scale shopping and dinning all around the area.

Room Tip: Don't miss the managers reception and free breakfast. Saved tons of money between those two thi...

They outdid themselves this time. Amazing chef--if you order a six ounce piece of fish, you'll get twelve. Order ten buffalo wings and they'll bring you twenty. Front desk service is the best I have ever seen. And the location, with its walking paths for miles around the golf course and creek, are amazing.
