“Really good hostel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

HI Phoenix is not particularly walking distance to anything but only a one minute walk from the bus stop, which will get you downtown in about 10 minutes.
Extremely friendly staff, clean facilities and a good breakfast.
I just have one gripe - they have a 'no shoes in dorms' policy and so I arrived back at my room one day to find my shoes on the front step. I'd understand if they were sneakers or whatever, but they were a pair of Ralph Lauren ballet flats that I'd worn once and clearly weren't going to stink out the dorm. I felt a bit miffed that they'd been put outside for anyone to take! (It is a very safe hostel with a great, friendly atmosphere, but you still never really know what people are like.)
Anyway, I had a great stay and would stay there again but next time I'd hide my shoes!!

This was the second time I have stayed in this hostel (10 years between) and it was awesome both times. The staff and everything about this hostel are simply the business. We got lifts into town in staff pickup truck, woke in the mornings to a private female vocalist concert, free BIG breakfast of fresh home made pancakes and i can go on and on and on.... I unfortunately fell in with a bottle of Jamesons and fell out with (read: into) a cactus. That is the only slightly negative thing about Phoenix I can think of. Tempe is beautiful (but expensive) and the weather, ahhhh, the sun...

Go to Phoenix and stay at this hostel. You wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: Its all good y'all.

A massive thanks to Kate, Csilla and Keith for being so friendly and helpful during my stay. Every aspect of my stay was great, the art walk was a good way of socialising and seeing some great art, the breakfast was a great start to the day, the location is great, the beds are comfortable, the place is clean, nothing bad to say about this place or its staff at all

I stayed at the hostel for 3 nights in October 2013. I had a single room at a very reasonable rate.
Everything was very clean, the staff welcoming and I sure loved the garden. The location is perfect for using Light Rail. I used it to get to the airport, the Heard Museum, Pueblo Grand and the Desert Botanical Gardens. I can really recommend the hostel.

A truly unique and amazing place! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Keith and Kate were really helpful with where to go and what to do in Phoenix--Hikes, bars, restaurants, concerts, art events! They had Laptops to use, wifi, great front and back yard with viewing deck, and excellent breakfast!

My friend and I stayed here on our road trip and planned to stay for 1 night and ended up staying for 3! We went to the Art Walk downtown with everyone at the Hostel and learned a lot about the street art and Murals.

Definitely recommend this place, Thanks HI Phoenix!

Room Tip: Their dorms are female or male dorms, not mixed. But the private rooms are not that much more money...

A huge Thanks to Kate and Keith for all their help during our three day stay.
Don't let first impressions put you off, as you enter the street it all seems suburban, but after a while you realise how lucky you are to stay here.
A great house with character and really interesting travelers every day.

A really cool supermarket that caters for the Latino community is close by and if you plan on seeing Arizona, then hire a car and explore. The staff will help with any questions.

Great outdoor areas, lounge room and full kitchen were awesome.

Definitely recommend this hostel to everyone planning on visiting Phoenix!

This small hostel is basically a house converted. It is quirky and got a lot of character. The beds are comfortable, the staff helpful and generous with their time, the facilities basic but very clean. The free wifi is of a really high standard.

I really enjoyed my time here and if I was ever to come back to Phoenix I will stay there.
