We had stayed 4 nights, the location was great near the freeway, many restaurants, shops and the shopping center is about one miles away. The breakfast was not so great, the coffee was not strong enough the one in the room was much better. The room was clean and really nice we did book the standard room but were upgraded without additional cost. the a superior room, very spacious. We had difficulties with the internet connection the technical support was not a big help but a young lady at the reception helped us with the connection. The staff was very friendly.

Although the price was cheap and the location decent, I had a TERRIBLE experience at the Ramada. Do not stay here! I did as suggested by other travelers and requested a newly renovated room for a slightly higher price for night. The room itself was nice, but the walls were paper thin- I was kept awake every night because of people talking quietly or watching the TV at a low volume in the next room, not to mention people yelling and talking outside, and I was on the third floor. The included continental breakfast was also quite bad- the fruit was canned and in syrup; there were almost no vegetarian options.

The biggest issue I had, though, is one of safety and service. The night I checked in, I woke up at 4 AM to the sound of someone opening my door and trying to enter my room. Luckily, I had locked the security latch so the door would not open completely. I heard the door shut and then open again, at which point I cried out not to enter. I ran to the door and looked out the peep hole- two ladies, each holding half-finished beers with the remainder of a case between them and seeming intoxicated, had key cards with access to my guest room. I called the front desk and immediately reported the event and demanded that their keys be confiscated. A few minutes later, I went to the front desk myself to discuss the situation and explain how scared and upset I was by this incident. The woman at the front desk said that a computer glitch had caused my room to appear unused, so she assigned it to these ladies in the middle of the night. She promised to leave a note about the situation and told me to talk to the manager in the morning. She never left the note nor informed any superiors about my mishap. I approached the manager the next morning and explained the situation. He didn't seem to have much of a reaction to this extremely unsafe and upsetting event, but he promised to look into it and asked me a few questions about my checkout date. I never heard any follow-up information from the manager or any staff member, and I was never offered any remuneration for my bad experience.

We regret the confusion with the computers that caused us to check another party into the same room. While this is very rare in the hotel industry it does happen and the guest was wise to use the safety latch when in the room. The guest indicated that she did not hear from me but I can assure readers that I did do a thorough investigation and wrote to her a week or so later. We take security very seriously and are happy to say that this is a very isolated incident.

This is the second year that I have stayed at the Ramada Plaza Hotel at Metro Center while I attended spring training baseball games. Unlike some of the recent reviews, I have enjoyed my stay. The motel's location near the Black Canyon Highway (17) makes getting around Phoenix fairly easy, considering Phoenix traffic. At the same time, I did not notice excessive highway noise while I stayed at the motel. A runner, I found that the motel's location near the spillway system and the trails that border it a real plus. This year I stayed in one of the deluxe king rooms and was very pleased. The room was updated, neat, clean, and fairly roomy. The bathroom was modern, clean, and relatively large. The pool area is pleasant allowing one to sit outside, enjoy the warmth, and use the free wi fi. A real plus for me is the friendly, courteous, professional staff. Whether it was the day or evening staff, I found someone behind the desk who was patient and helpful. When I go down for spring training next March, I plan to stay here again.

im not a picky person and im not going to bad mouth it because of one little thing, in general the place was bad. it was in a bad area in a old building. the pool was full of junk and it smelled. it had supposedly been remodeled and we stayed in one of the remodeled rooms. tthe beds were uncomfortable and the furniture was already falling apart, to top it off the wireless wasnt capable of handling as many users as it was so it constantly crashed, id save your money and check out some where else. if you decide to stay here at least stay in a suite or remodeled room the old rooms are disgusting so much so we switched to a suite.

We attended the Del sol soccer tournament and we stayed in this hotel. The staff was pleasant enough, but the facilities left much to be desired. We were on the 3rd floor so it was not one of the renovated rooms. The walls are thin, and you could hear your neighbors and the traffic outside. Our toilet also clogged during our 2 day stay, although totally annoying, (not to mention embarrassing!) The front desk sent someone up to fix it within 5 minutes of calling.
The cost of the room included a daily breakfast which was honestly inedible. Over all in wasn't a horrible experience, but I wouldn't stay there again. I would like to emphasize that I found the staff very pleasant, just the facilities were inadequate.

  • Liked — fast check-in/out
  • Disliked — Just old, and worn out looking. needs a face lift BADLY!

Thank you for your review. I am sorry taht your experience was not to your liking. I can say that the newly renovated rooms are far superior and some say the best rooms on the I-17 corridor. I hope that we can have a chance to serve you in the future and ensure that you get one of the new rooms. I am sure you would be happy with them.
