“Amazing hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

I stayed at the property because I had an early flight out the next day. Very friendly staff, great rooms with comfortable beds. Hotel shuttle to the airport runs 24 hrs and that makes it very convenient for early flights.

Criteria for Hotel for one night in Phoenix - early evening arrival from Europe so quick drink, quick meal, then sleep. 3 Adults (Mum Dad & Son) Booked King Bed Exec Suite best flexible with breakfast - on the road next day for 15-day road trip. Simple two-room suite at a cost of $191.
I asked in advance if the sleeper sofa could be made up in the lounge area for my son - which was not done. I spoke to the young lady on reception who said it would be attended to, she'd call housekeeping. After a drink and a meal, we returned to find two flimsy sheets and a very thin duvet dumped on the sofa bed - make it yourself time. Sofa bed very thin and uncomfortable.
Check in - Amateur, as in young and inexperienced...not customer focused, especially at this price for an 'exec' room.
Location - close to airport so fine.
Very average experience for a relatively expensive room.
SAVING GRACE - on the evening of 22 April the bubbly lady running the hotel bar was outstanding in the way she was dealing with all her customers. Had a great local beer and a very nice meal, all served with humour and fantastic customer service.

After a long flight what do you want from your hotel;
Near to the airport.
Easy check in.
Comfortable room and a good nights sleep.
Good breakfast in the morning
Easy check out
On top of that good customer service.
Well this hotel is exactly what your looking for ! Not too many bells and whistle, but not bare minimum. and great value. This is one airport hotel that ticks all the boxes.

Room Tip: Room at the back is quietest, but front rooms are not noisey.

Clean and quiet. Very comfortable beds, good size rooms. Stayed for business trip. Unless you are staying for just one night the location is horrible. Right next to airport, but not really within walking distance to anything. Not even a convenient store or gas station nearby. Unless you have a rental car choose a different location.

Overall, I have absolutely no complaints about the hotel! We were able to check in a little early Monday (always helpful). After a long traveling day, had dinner that night at Soleil, and I was, overall, very impressed by the food...and the choices! It wasn't a hamburger or some chicken fingers. I had linguine with clams, and my husband had a rib eye that came with sides. A bottle of wine was $15, had some with dinner and had the rest cozied up in the bar area watching the NCAA Championship. It was a convenient location to the aiport, Tempe Marketplace, Chase Field and Mill Ave. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Having a fridge is always a plus! After nights of walking around at Tempe Marketplace/Mill Ave, it was nice to come back, put our feet in the hot tub and have a beer outside. The pool area was always very clean, well kept, well-lit and had music playing. Thank you, Holiday Inn, for a great stay, and, I would definitely come back if we would find ourselves back in Phoenix.

the room itself was fine but the in room ac was so noisy and the air blowing right over the bed made for an uncomfortable night. This was my first Holiday Inn expereince and I was puzzled by the tiny pillows - even with 4 pillows there was little actual pillow room on a king size bed. I was unable to pull the drapes across to shut out all the light outside and had a less than ideal sleeping experience. I would have to seriously reconsider staying in Holiday Inns if this is the noise I would regularly get from in room ac. Considering the total cost of the room was $167 I dont think this represented very good value for money.

Room Tip: I assume all the rooms have noisy in room ac so theres little choice on that

Dear Guest,
Management is certainly looking at the noise issue with the Air Conditioning unit. It is a new hotel and this should not be a problem. As for the pillows, those are actually Holiday inn required pillows, there is good news though, those pillows have now been changed to Standard and King size which you will notice in the coming months.Sorrt about the problems you encountered.

Desk staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, beds were comfortable with a choice of firm or soft pillows, bath towels softer than most hotels. Free Wifi that worked well. Hotel is conveniently located off the interstate about 5-10 mins from the airport. We did not eat there so I can't comment on the food, but eating area was spacious. One minor problem was the temperature control, the air was either off or blew really cold air. It would have helped if they had a high/low fan control. Overall, great place to stay if you need a hotel near the airport.
