“Wonderful resort hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

I stayed here for a conference and really enjoyed the experience. Rooms are comfortable and spacious, the environment is wonderful- aromatic flowers, well tended gardens and the buildings architecture all go towards making it a calming place - even though there are lots of people !
Spa treatments are amazing too- I had best massage ever.

This hotel, designed by Frank LLoyd Wright, is stunning. The buildings and gardens are gorgeous. Great pool and fitness center. Staff members were very friendly, especially the guys in valet parking. Pastries at the little take-out cafe were tasteless and dry, but the coffee was excellent. Expensive but a real treat (we used hotel points).

I spent several days at a conference. This hotel is beautiful and the service was immaculate. I heard that President Ronald Reagan came to this resort for his honey moon. Rooms are spacious, the beds are some of the best in the industry, the facility is full of luxurious gardens, room service was amazing, elegant and beautiful swimming pools. I travel a lot for business and I will definitely come back even for family vacation. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Biltmore is a "grand old dame" hotel with amenities of a century ago - grounds, pools, setting, and updated rooms. The food is good and service is excellent. Its close to downtown, yet an oasis. I stay there every other week, sometimes every week. Can't imagine any other place i would want to stay.

Stayed in a cottage suite here last year and found the resort pretty- although it is evident that they try and keep it green (which means watering the grounds constantly since its in the desert- not very eco friendly). Saw several weddings take place while I was staying there due to the nice landscape and large facilities I assume that thie is part of their mainstay. The pools are nice and looked good for both young and old (didnt get a chance to use those facilities) but they looked great. Took a walk around there are golf courses on site which are pretty but you need to drive or take a cab if you want to go into town.

I stayed here many moons ago and it lived up to a Waldorf Astoria reputation... now, not so much. What happened to the bathrobes? What happened to the toiletries? What happened to the legionary service? While the rooms are good size they are basic. I think my clock radio/alarm is from the 80's (but who uses those anymore anyway). The TV is a flat screen, so that's something. Okay, it's not bad, in fact better than okay, but no longer legionary.

We visited the Biltmore to attend a conference in April. We received a "discounted" conference rate of $299 (plus taxes) At check in we were told that our room is in one of the Bougainvillea villas, which we first thought was an upgrade. Huge disappointment! Positives: the room is spacious and overlooking a private pool area. The area is quiet and well landscaped.
Negatives: everything in the room was falling apart and substandard. The carpet and the curtains are filthy. We could not tell if the carpet was supposed to be brown or grey, the alarm did not work and electrical outlets were falling out from the wall. The bathroom was big but hugely outdated, a scale was put in but did not work, the sinks were cracked and the bathmats were supposed to be white but they were grey. The shower/tub had caulking everywhere and looked like a kid would have put it on with his fingers to hastily plug all the leaking places. The bed was uncomfortable and obviously old and the pillow top put on it was ~15 inch shorter than the bed. The room had a very old ~22 inch regular TV that should have been replaced a long time ago as it was barely visible. The remote did not work properly as it gave us only a few channels that were actually listed. And the worst part: we did not have hot water the first night because the owner of the villa turned off the hot water heater! We did not know that the villas were in private hands, but this was probably the reason for the lacking facilities. To the hotel's credit the engineer came ~30 minutes later and spent considerable time with trying to find out what the problem was. After he managed to turn the electric water heater on, we had at least lukewarm water, so we could take a very quick shower. Unfortunately, the problem returned next morning, when we had only cold water again. Apparently, the thermostat was not adjusted the night before, so the water never heated up and we were left almost all morning without hot water. The whole experience was hugely disappointing and we expected a lot more from a 5-star hotel. The grounds are truly beautiful and the main hotel lobby area is great. We cannot comment on any of the rooms in the main building but, we would advise anyone against staying in the villas due to the issues we experienced.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the villas
