I came for a conference and wanted to stay at a concierge level so I opted to pay $40 extra to get to the Ocatilla rooms. The first room I got smelled really bad and had the remnants of snacks on the floor from the previous guest. I was moved to another room, and the paint was peeling off the walls all over, there was a stain along the wall where there has to be some water damage. The frigs leaked water all over the carpet. The offerings at the lounge was minimal at best. At least have something for breakfast like the Embassy Suites. It doesn't take much effort to climb to the level of other chain hotels when you are charging extra for a lounge. Seriously unimpressed by their lounge. They did have a nice big space with tables and linen napkins to eat your toast though. I let management know how disappointed I was and they definitely did not live up to the hype they put forward about their resort. I was moved to a newly renovated building and the room was much nicer. I called and asked for 3 bath towels. 2 hours later I called again, and asked where they were and I was told they were on the way. A knock on my door met with a maintenance guy to fix the air conditioning. I know it was 110 degrees outside but I assured him the AC was running full blast and it was working great. He informed the desk I was asking for towels. Another 30 minutes go by and I call again and got an assurance the towels are on the way. I did finally get them.... 26 minutes later. Just when I think it cannot get worse, I get up and get ready for a shower in the morning and I am greeting with a scorpion in the bathroom. The management called them "our little friends". In case you dont know, if you see one, then there are more. I had to shake out every towel , piece of cloting, and shoes......I didn't have a backlight, and you guessed it, I get moved to another room. I reviewed my account and found they were still charging me for the concierge level room even though I was not there anymore. I get told that was what I signed up for and that's what they are charging me for. After I remind them (several times) their rooms and service were incredibly substandard they finally relent and agree to charge me the appropriate rate. I definitely would NOT recommend this resort to anyone.
