“wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

I've wanted to stay at this property for a long time and finally got the chance. For all you Frank Lloyd Wright fans this is a must see. It's a beautiful hotel with an wonderful history. I was able to stay in room 2101 in the newly remodled Paradise Wing and the room is absolutely stunning! Kudos to the designer who put together a room that is serene, classic and simply beautiful to look at.

The entire Biltmore property has a few walking trails and a great neighborhood to stroll through and look at the mansions. I had a wonderful early early morning walk then I was able to squeeze in a massage before my meetings; Roberto was wonderful and his massage was one of the best I've had. The spa is a tad worn, but still functional and adequate. I'm guessing its on the remodel list.

I ate in the outside bar and had the fresh guacamole, which was wonderful, and the steamed mussels/clams--which were tough and on the funky side. I guess I should have known better.

I have to give kudos to the front desk. When I checked out I asked about the wallpaper in the room and how I would go about getting information about it. The front desk rep took my name and number and then followed up with an email that same day with information on who to contact. This is exceptional service that should be rewarded.

I love this hotel and the Hilton brand. Nice job.

I used the spa services and stayed at the hotel the entire day. My experience from the get go was 5 star. Not only were the grounds beautifully designed, and the architecture magnificent, the greeting and attention I received from the staff in the spa completed my transportation into vacation mode. A curing sports massage from Ray was perfect. The pool services were also very good. One of our attendants, Oriana, I'm sure will not be in her position long. She was attentive and intuitive and this is surely securing her movement up the "guest service" ladder.

This hotel is really something special for a leisurely family vacation. Excellent hotel, nice rooms, great spa, exceptional services and restaurants that are some of the best in the area. Frankly, there is no reason to leave the resort.

Don't miss the Sunday brunch at Wright's a phenomenal and well worth the price. From shrimp and crab to 5 small plates that you can order as many as you like, awesome desserts and a wide variety of salads and other options. Frank and Albert's is also a very good breakfast.

Service is top notch throughout the resort from the time you meet the valet's when you arrive, the front desk, pools, spas, restaurants, etc. They make you feel special and like they are glad you are there - a far cry from many other hotels these days.

Have stayed here before and definitely plan to return again! Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing vacation.

Room Tip: Rooms with patios offer indoor and outdoor options. Rooms are very well appointed.

In July 2014 we stayed at the beautiful Arizona Biltmore which was built in 1929 by Frank Lloyd Wright and one of his former students. The resort is sprawling, and the grounds are magnificent, with a lovely view of nearby mountains. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful too, very well trained for the hospitality business.

Seems this hotel was very popular with “old Hollywood”, often frequented by the likes of Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe. Supposedly Irving Berlin wrote the song “White Christmas” while sitting by one of their pools. Every U.S. president since Herbert Hoover has stayed there at one time or another. They have historical photographs on display all throughout the resort, which were really interesting to see. One thing that struck us was an aerial view of the resort taken in the 1930s… the hotel was literally the only thing in sight… the entire town has since sprung up around it. Quite a contrast between then and now. I read that the AZ Biltmore has more gold-leaf than any other building in the world other than the Taj Mahal. Their massive ceilings in the lobby and other public areas are lined with it.

Our room (located on the 3rd floor of the main building) was spacious and comfortable, and we had a beautiful garden and mountain view. Robes for guest use are provided.

There are two excellent restaurants on the premises. Both are on the pricey side, but well worth it. Service at both restaurants was exemplary. Frank & Albert’s is the more casual of the two eateries. They feature basic fare but made with local/fresh ingredients, even the hamburger buns were fresh baked. Very tasty! If you’re a fan of margaritas, their “Prickly Pear Margarita” was perfection!

The fancier restaurant at the Arizona Biltmore is “Wright’s”. According to TripAdvisor as of the date of our stay, Wright’s is the #2 rated restaurant out of 2,565 restaurants in Phoenix and with it being located right in our hotel we figured we might as well take advantage of the proximity. Very happy we did, our meal was wonderful. The menu features “old school” entrees (but with fresh interpretations) and every bite was excellent. It’s a tradition that when Wright’s presents you the bill they also give you a plate of home-spun cotton candy “because no one wants to just get a bill!” You gotta like that philosophy!

There are mutliple pools on the property, including one with a fun 29-foot water slide. During the summer months the pools are open late into the evening since sometimes it’s just too hot to swim in the blazing midday heat.

Hat’s off to the landscapers and groundskeepers at the Arizona Biltmore; the gardens are a work of art and the grounds are maintained impeccably. Needless to say, considering the players involved, the architecture is fascinating and unlike any other place I’ve ever visited.

Overall I’d highly recommend the Arizona Biltmore as a destination, but not in July… The temperature was a mere 113 degrees when we were there and it “cooled off” to the low 90s in the evenings. Even by AZ standards that was unusually hot. I’m thinking this would be a fabulous place to visit in say February, for example!

Came for a conference. Was glad there's a shopping plaza down the road (you will pay for car service or wait for the shuttle) that was within walking distance though I don't believe there's a sidewalk the whole way. Restaurant did not have organic/free range/wild caught options for the price and waitstaff uneducated on food sources. Complex is huge and pretty, but can be difficult to navigate especially at night.

Room Tip: don't get a room by the pool if you like quiet

The amenities that I'm interested in include are a coffee pot in room, ability to order something smaller than a 16 inch pizza, easy to connect to power for computer, phone. Room TOO dark -- I was charged for minibar I did not check out or drink -- process improves opportunities. So an option for Business Travelers... :) if you don't need us --- no worries.

Room update will bring you back to the 5 Star Mobile resort you once were. One of the best breakfasts ever, and best waiter staff. The overall resort is elegance and has old time class. The architecture is Frank Lloyd Wright. The grounds of the resort are beautiful and manicured with precision, location of the resort is ideal for travel to Scottsdale or downtown Phoenix. One of the best old time resort in Arizona.
