“Full-service resort; dated decor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We stayed at the Arizona Biltmore for four nights for a business meeting. The grounds of the Biltmore are expansive and impressive--the property just goes on and on. The Frank Lloyd Wright-influenced design of many of the buildings is really lovely; some of the pools (I think there are eight pools) are vintage also.

Our room, though, wasn't vintage. It was just kind of old. Nothing wrong with anything; it just felt dated. However, the room was comfortable enough, with plenty of space and a nice bathroom.

Hotel facilities include a fitness center, which I thought surprisingly small for a property of this size, but it was adequate (I never had trouble finding a machine).

As you might expect, the on-site cafe is expensive, but the espresso is decent, and it's worth not having to go off-site to find a Starbucks.

We had room service once and were not disappointed but not terrifically impressed, either. It was decent. Food at business functions was good.

Service throughout our stay was generally friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Just be aware that the property includes several buildings with hotel rooms so you may not be in the...

This is the 2nd time we have had the pleasure of staying at the Biltmore. Although the location and facilities are wonderful - I will have to admit that service as well as maintenance has declined in the past year. We have heard that there are some financial issues driving this but they have sold. Not sure if this is true or not but it would explain how a facility have gone down in the past year. However, the location is ideal and the overall atmosphere of this hotel is a wonderful step back in time. The walking trail is a great way to get your day started. We ate breakfast at Frank & Alberts and was not too impressed with the service. We did truly enjoy the pools and the poolside bars.

Room Tip: it is worth the money to have an upgraded room with a better view.

the property (which is now part of Hilton chain) is trying to live off its past glory, when actors like Marylin Monroe and Clark Gables stayed there. Exterior of the hotel and the grounds are beautiful, but the room decorations and vanities simply kills it for you. Ugly carpeting, old style furniture, vanities that looks like they were purchased from Home depot when it was on sale and you get the picture. My room did not even have a simple coffee maker. (now and days I am sure you can get that in Motel 6!)
I also did not find the main pool to be really that clean, but that could be the time of the day I used it which was late in the afternoon. (On this one I give the hotel benefit of the doubt)

Another issue with this place are the outrageous prices for just about anything . Now I understand that the property is trying to attract certain clientele (what ever that means) but $4.00 for simple cup of coffee, $4.30 for club soda, $15.00 for burger and $27.00 for vale parking now that is a bit too much, I don’t care if you are there on business and your company is picking up the tab.
Biltmore has a potential of being a great hotel but not the way it is right now.

This is the second time I've stayed here. I travelled on business. I felt completely safe as a lone female traveller. I attended a conference and everything was fantastic. I definitely would go back. The gym is pretty good. Lots of equipment and heavy equip too . Though with the heat streaming in through the windows it was a bit uncomfortable to train in the day.

Grand hotel. Grand history. Friendly hospitable staff. Excellent restaurant and bars. Good local beers. Delightful atmosphere and places to hang out and sit inside and outside. Take in the views and ambiance. I like the main building best for lodging, but I can see why one would like the cottages and enclaves for certain occasions. Enjoy the running trails.

Beautiful grounds, pleasant staff, luxurious accommodations. Rooms are very spread out -- I had quite a walk from the lobby. . . but golf carts are available at a few moments notice. Several pools to choose from - I was able to use them completely alone on most occasions. Great place to stay if you are an active, outdoorsy type person -- plenty of exercise type things to do.

This is one of my all time favorite hotels I have ever stayed. What a treat! The interiors are lovely and well appointed, the grounds are sprawling and scenic and the staff was great. The service was great from the front desk to the restaurants and bars to the meeting and banquet teams. The outdoor seating areas were roomy and ample. My only complaint was that I didn't have enough time to spend there! Will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Paradise Wing feel secluded but are close to everything, central to the entire resort.
