My wife and I spent the weekend here for a wedding and the valet/concierge service was top notch. Front desk...not so much. We checked in and our room was not ready, we were two hours before check in, so no problem there. We ate lunch and went shopping. The front desk person was supposed to call us and nothing for three hours. We then went to the wedding rehearsal and came back, still nothing, we went back to the front desk to check the status and the person said, "oh...the room has been cleaned for a few hours and is ready...". That upset us at such a top quality resort. Villa room (connected to brother's suite) was in bad need of updating. Comfortable but very 80's decor. TV very small and not flat screen. Bathroom clean but not very modern. For the price per night we were hoping for something more. Found out that Biltmore has residents who own the villa's and lease them out to guests for part of the revenue. Makes sense now. Biltmore probably needs to require stronger deed restrictions so their customers have a consistent/enjoyable stay. Ocatilla is supposed to be nice so perhaps we will pay the extra amount and try that next time. For the price, I would book elsewhere in Scottsdale. If you are there to relax and not do much, the Biltmore does provide a very nice sense of resort and solitude for relaxation. PS - the grounds are fantastic and always well maintained. Golf looks fun but very expensive!
