“Wonderful hotel with everything you need”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2010

I had a great stay at this Embassy Suites. Typical Embassy Suites layout with atrium in the center and spacious rooms, but seemed to be a step up from your typical Embassy Suites. This hotel really makes you feel at home. Perfect place for family vacations or large groups. Staff is very attentive and polite. A/C unit in the room is a little noisy but nothing you can't get use to. medium sized fridge and small microwave as well as a kitchen sink. Free breakfast in the morning that is actually very good! Small but modern and clean workout room. Location is great with an outdoor mall next door. I had a very nice stay here and would definitely come back.

If you like Embassy Suites, you are in for a treat. Beautiful and huge atrium with palm trees, running stream with waterfalls, koi fish, and turtles. Pool is great. Suites are very clean and typical for Embassy Suites high standards. Steak restaurant was fantastic. Typical Embassy Suites full breakfast, evening drinks and snacks.

Great hotel - nice, comfortable, large, clean rooms. Location is great - good in the business area and restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The only downfall I have is the breakfast line in the mornings. It is not set-up well and I had to stand in line for 30 minutes to get the buffet-type, ready to eat food. The reason the line was so long was because it's only one line for ready to eat and cook to order food. So you had to wait in line for cook to order, even if you did not want it. It was ridiculous. Other than that, super nice hotel and highly recommended!

We really liked this hotel. At check-in we were greeted by a friendly clerk, who was very helpful with directions to shopping and restaurants. Our suite was clean and spacious – much bigger than the suites at other Embassy Suites that we’ve stayed at – with a very nice modern décor. There was a sink and vanity in the bedroom, as well as in the bathroom. The atrium was very pretty, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pool, a pond with goldfish, and a waterfall. The fitness room had a few treadmills, an exercise bike, and free weights. The business center had two computers and a printer, which was handy for printing out boarding passes. Breakfast was complimentary and served in the atrium. The woman who cooked the hot items gave me two pancakes that were almost as big as the dish that they were on. The hotel is within walking distance of the Biltmore shopping center, which had shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it.

It was a typical Embassy Suites in many ways. The location is terrific, within walking distance of a fashion mall and many restaurants. Room carpet was dirty, but otherwise OK. Breakfast prep staff was outstanding. Eddie the shuttle driver was very personable and helpful. Front desk was accommodating. Outdoor pool was large, landscaped and clean enough. A very good option for Phoenix, and I would recommend highly for a business meeting. Our event planner arranged for airport transportation, not otherwise offered.

I love staying in Embassy Suites because the rooms are spacious and I love the free hot breakfasts. This one, in the Camelback area of Phoenix didn't disappoint. The lobby had an indoor garden (which could use a little updating) and a water feature with koi fish that look up at you and move their lips like they are trying to talk. The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions. The fitness room was small but nice. The walls are glass so everyone sees you working out. The hotel's location was across the parking lot from an upscale shopping center, which was nice until I realized most of the stores were very upscale. The parking lot was under construction when I was there so it was a little tricky walking to the shopping center. I loved the restaurants in the center, Zinburger had excellent gourmet burgers and truffle oil fries, the True Food restaurant is based on Dr. Weil's healthy eating principals, the turkey burger was outstanding. I also ate at the Paradise Bakery (the least expensive of the three restaurants) The apple- roast chicken salad was wonderful, their sandwiches comes with a cookie. There are other restaurants too (a sushi place, ice cream place, Cheesecake Factory etc) That's about the only place within walking distance from the hotel. You really need a car in this town. The hotel did have a steakhouse which was good too.

I have waited a few weeks before writing this review because I wanted to be sure that it was honest and thought that time might help. We checked into this hotel around midnight with a confirmed reservation for a King Suite for a two night stay. Check-in was fine and the agent on staff was cordial. After getting to our room (which was the furthest room possible away from the lobby) I saw that it was two double beds. I walked back down to the lobby to ask about our room and was told that they were out of king rooms because we checked in too late. There was a half hearted apology but no solution other than to come back tomorrow to see if there might be a king room available. The next morning (after a good nights sleep) we decided that since we were leaving the following morning we would just make due in the double room rather than move all our stuff. We were going to be in Arizona for eight days and had three more hotels to go to after this one.

Breakfast is always the best part of staying at an Embassy and in this area they did not disappoint. The chef was very friendly - she made the BEST french toast!

After breakfast we thought we'd go swimming but unfortunately the pool looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in two days and was full of leaves and bugs.

Location on Camelback is good. Shopping is right across the way and you're only a few miles from Old Town Scottsdale.

Overall the hotel was fine for the short time we stayed there. If returning to Phoenix for business this would be on the list however for a leisure vacation you're better off at Hilton Tapatio Cliffs or Squaw Peak.
