“Get A Great Perspective Of Phoenix & The Valley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

Something for everyone. We took the auto tour on the road up to the top. A very good experience with desert scenes and a view that is truly inspiring. A number of places for horseback riding, hiking trails for all levels of challenge and a bicyclist dream. A good deal of time can be spent just taking in the many views of the whole valley and all points to the South of Phoenix. A fun park that can be relaxing or as physically demanding that you may want.

“Beautiful and Close to Downtown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

I drove to Phoenix for a convention center business event with my mountain bike in the back of my SUV in the hopes of riding some fun trails while there. My neighbor from Phoenix suggested South Mountain Park and I also highly recommend it. It's a full-on nature experience and you feel totally away from the city. There are roads for road-biking and tons of trails for hiking or mountain-biking. It's about a 20 minute easy drive from downtown. I saw the sunrise with birds chirping and was back at the Phoenix CC by 9:30am. Go!

“Good hiking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

We were in a place backed up to the preserve and hiked there twice. There are different hikes for different hiking ability.

“Great hike with wonderful vistas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014

We did the hike to hidden valley. Get there early as the parking area fills up quickly and it gets hot out there as there is no shade. Pack all the water and sunscreen you will need! You will also get rewarded with great views in all directions. Alternatively, you could just drive to the vista points.
