“Enjoyed the gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

We had a great docent with extensive knowledge and a great sense of humor. Having come from the upper midwest her knowlege was a great introduction to the vegetation in the South West. The garden is well laid out and I was impressed by how many people were visiting on a Thursday evening.

They had a Chihuly sculpture exibit that was situated throughout the gardens that made the total experience really a delight. I highly recommend a visit.

“Desert's Magical Forest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

What a truly beautiful garden. I have lived in the desert for most of my life, and what an eye opener. Who knew that the desert had so many different and beautiful types of foliage. DBG is an amazing place. As a bonus if you can visit while the Chihuly Exhibit is there it is even more magical. I would suggest early morning or late afternoon early evening.

“Nice place to visit for a calming day out”

Very nice way to see all the native plants of of the southwest in one place. We were there while the Chihuly exhibit was being shown. Really enjoyed the time there.

“Day and night beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

Went to the Chihuly exhibit at 5:30 had a wonderful walk, had dinner at Gertrudes( make sure get reservations) then rewalked our trail at night. Absolutely beautiful and a must see before it leaves town mid May. The only concern it is is very dark on the trail so be careful where you walk. Very classy and employees are very helpful and wonderful. Don't miss this!

“Great for learning the desert plants, and a nice walk.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

I've been to the outdoor museum twice before. Visited today for the Chihuly exhibit. Wish the art stayed there as it lends a snap of color and interest. Young children might be bored unless they visit the butterfly exhibit. I'm a transplant from the midwest, so I needed to learn about the different plants that grow here. There are so many duplicates e.g. mesquite trees, aloes, agaves, but wish I could transform my yard to something similar - what they call xeriscape here. The entry cost is a bit high, so plan accordingly. Restaurant with bar are available at the entrance. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes.
