I visited the Arizona Capitol Museum in July 2013 with my family, we found the museum to be worth the visit, but nothing real special.
The museum and parking are both free, it's located in the old Capitol building, which is four stories. It's a self guided tour, and it's best to start at the top and work your way down. Unless you stop and read everything, you will be done in about an hour. My 6 and 8 year kids were bored during the tour, nothing really exciting for the little ones to see or do.
The have a very nice park across the street from the capitol building filled with statues, military honors, the Ten Commandments, and other large items worth seeing.
They have a gift shop, but it was relocating when we were visiting. I don't think there is a restaurant or cafe at the museum.
I would recommend this tour to my family and friends, but only if they had nothing better to do.
