The current installation with something like 350,000 black butterflies which usher one into the main artery of the Phoenix Art Museum is spectacular and is a real "must" to see for all ages. It gives one a feeling of space and associations as well as chaos. This museum has much to offer at any one time. Currently, until sometime in early April, there is a wonderful exhibit of modern (since the Cultural Revolution) Chinese paintings lent by Gerry and Leslie Jones who have spent a great deal of their lives in China. The paintings recall much of the fear and anxiety of those years and these artists were expressing for themselves rather than for the art market. There are many more fine exhibitions at the museum but this is the one we most recently viewed.
