“Beautiful building, Art -- hit and miss”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Interesting collection of work by Phoenix artist who was a museum founder. Not terribly impressed with collection - seems like the space is bigger than the collection.

“Great Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

Sandwiched between Phoenix Opera, Symphony, Theater and the Heard Museum, and centrally located in downtown Phoenix, the Art Museum has lot to offer to visitors; including plenty of free parking.
Whether one enjoys the classics (old masters), romanticism or modern art, this museum covers it all. Astonishing is the depth of art featured from rather a 'provincial' museum which sophistication is a (pleasant) surprise.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

One of your reviewers said it was a small museum, my feet beg to differ. It sprawls around several buildings and floors and we spent nearly seven hours looking, reading and enjoying. It's not the NY Met but it has a fine offering with several exhibits to choose from. Some were absolute eye-candy to those you'll wonder why - so in other words, something for everyone.

If you are in Phoenix and like to spend time in a good museum you will not be disappointed. Also, the restaurant was very good as well and the portions larger than you typically get in a captive environment, so make sure you imbibe while visiting. Also, their air-condition is impeccable, so if you need a respite from the heat, this is the place.

“Always interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

For a smallish museum that probably doesn't have a huge budget, I feel that the Phoenix Art Museum makes really interesting choices with the exhibits that they mount. They could play it safe, but it seems that they often feature new or off-beat artists.

“Glass Saguarous grow here.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

This is a interesting place that is called a museum. What it is exactly, is a mixture of sculpture park and nature preserve. Got time to let you mind go with the flow of objects that glow. Yes there really is a glass Saguaro. Good family fun.
