“Great Food, Great Value, Great View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

We came down from the mountains on the way back to Scottsdale AZ and stopped at the Crosswinds Grill. Don't expect "gourmet" food or fancy, upscale decor. No....go to some place else if that is what you are looking for. However if you want the best view in the state, while eating food "like your grandmother use to make," and walk out feeling as if you got a "steal" for the food you were served.... this is the place. Crosswinds sits at the Payson Arizona airport with a picture window that frames the "Rim" Country. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner .... it really doesn't make any difference .... hamburgers, great ... breakfast is fantastic .... haven't had dinner yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Sunday is a special day. Try the Eggs Benedict or the Prime Rib breakfast dinner - slice of prime rib, two eggs, hash browns, and homemade blueberry bread. Oh, one thing more - the service is fantastic. Maybe that explains the full parking lot.

Nice place to eat and watch the planes land. The food is average the biscuits and gravy are right out of a can terrible. I would stick with the steak and eggs...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012

tiny cafe, seats were SO hard. the best sausage gravy I've had in a long time. Biscuit was HUGE. chicken fried steak was sooooo good. ordered eggs over medium, specified yolk runny and whites cooked. She said she would make sure. They were not. Quick service.

“Liked the service. Food was also OK.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2012

During the 2 days I have spend in Payson Airport the Crosswinds was almost always packed with locals and people that fly in for a lunch or dinner. Nothing spectacular but I liked the positive atmosphere.
