This property is past it's prime and has a bit of a 'tired' feeling about it. The brochure and web site are beautiful but the property has fallen into a bit of disarray. It is 'rustic' and clean but you can tell from the grounds that it has not gotten a lot of attention lately. The fountain in the front yard is full of stagnant water and the tall weeds detract from what could be a beautiful front yard. The 'world-class gourmet delights' coming from the kitchen was weak coffee, a fruit bowl that consisted of grapes and sliced bananas, two slices of turkey bacon and two small blue cornmeal pancakes served with a sugary, berry syrup rather than authentic maple syrup. The breakfast is really rather ordinary.
The picnic table outside our Casita, was not useable. It was old and broken. A couple of outdoor chairs would have greatly enhanced allowed us to enjoy the outdoors.
They make the kitchen available to guests but it is so full of STUFF all over the counters that there is little, if any, room to really use the kitchen.
During a local wine tour, we ran into another couple who was also staying there, but inside the main house, who were astounded between what the brochure/web site pictures show versus the reality. They said the en suite bathroom was so small that it was really uncomfortable. (You could hit your head on the vanity countertop when you bend down to use the toilet!)
It's a pleasant place but certainly not as pictured. The owners are nice.
