This was the first time I've stayed at this resort, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we checked in, the service was first rate and everyone did their jobs well and did their best to make our short stay nice. We were rushing to get to a tee time at one of their courses, and they held our bags, got us quickly on a shuttle to the course and we had just enough time to make it happen. Once we made our way back to the property, we were upgraded to a "sun deck casita" at the back of the resort. The room was fairly standard, more like a Marriott instead of a JW Marriott, but it was nice enough. The sun deck was enormous, and offered an amazing view of Camelback Mountain. We had dinner at Rita's on campus, and it was good food and good service. We then made our way to one of the very large fire pits and enjoyed some wine by the fire and chatted with other guests. The common area behind the restaurants and lobby were beautiful and it was obvious that the resort had recently completed an extensive renovation. The breakfast buffet was extensive and was done very well. Overall, I would highly recommend this property for a business conference getaway, a romantic getaway or a family vacation. There is a tennis center, spa, fitness center and pools and hot tubs as well. If you are considering Scottsdale for any reason, you would do well to put this resort on your short list.

I stayed at the Camelback in June while in Phoenix for business. Ive stayed at many other hotels and resorts in the area and this one is one of the best. I like that it has more of a desert resort feel than a hotel feel. The buildings are low adobe style structures that ramble throughout the large property. Many rooms have little sitting patios with chairs so you can hang out in the morning or evening and enjoy the views. The pool area is terrific and the views of the mountians are incredible. I like the great restaurant lounge and large outdoor sitting area...at night it is a fantastic scene. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any business travelers...rooms, service, amenities are all top notch. Im sure it would make a good centrally located place for families as well although like many marriots, it doesnt have a "kids resort" feel.

Wonderful stay for a company business conference for 3 days. It was hot but got cool at night. Beautiful grounds. Rooms are southwestern designed, 5 star all the way, Nice and large with a little kitchenette - microwave and frig. Nice outside sitting table/chairs. Bed was soon comfy. I slept like a baby each night. Very quiet. Great pillows. The bathroom is nice with a his and her area and vanity drawers, large makeup mirror. Bath products were really nice. Staff were wonderful and went out of their way for my requests. We had a private event at the back of the resort at Mummy Mountain. Loved it. I will be back here for a personal trip.

The property has not changed much in the years since we were first there. Yes there has been upkeep changes to keep the site nice. The furniture and bath areas could use someupdating. It is not an over the top destination. It is simple and elegant, and service is attentive and unobtrusive the way at least we like it. All of the employees had a smile on and helped us as needed.
