As opposed to some reviewers we went to Sanctuary to relax. It was exactly right for that. There were rules about cellphone etiquette and I liked the lack of computer usage/attachments to work. This is not a business hotel but one to Relax at.

The spa and gym were very nice. There was a wide assortment of classes to partake in, so if you're looking for a work out/fitness vacation, this hotel surely fits the bill.

In terms of service, it was wonderful. While the weather was a bit chilly, we were the only people at the hot tub and there was still service staff who brought us water and were ready to wait on on us. The restaurant Elements also had very god service but clearly the highlight was the food - excellent for the 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners we ate there. We're from Seattle and even the coffee exceeded our high standards.

My wife and I look forward to our next stay in AZ, and we will most certainly be staying here for our Relaxing vacation.

Had a 3 night stay for our 10 year wedding anniversary in October. We found the rooms to be an odd mixture of old 1960's or 1970's architecture with very modern decor. They were nice overall and the service was good, but there were some disappointments for a $500-$600 night room.

The Jade Bar is so packed full of young Scottsdale bar rats that it is unusable on the weekends for guest. Very disappointing at these prices that you can't enjoy the hotel's ammenities like this.

We had to make our own toast for breakfast delivered by room service. Kind of weird.

No in room movie service. They have a DVD player with a beautiful flat panel LCD, but we had to borrow movies from the front desk (many were already checked out) and we had to get the DVD player replaced 2 times because of malfunctions.

No in room internet. Even Motels have internet.

At these prices, you shouldn't want for a single thing.

Lovely and luxurious-have stayed before at Phoenician in Scottsdale and much prefer this smaller resort with beautiful rooms, grounds, excellent food and service. Spa treatments top notch, good workout facitlity. I had Mountain Casita Suite and it had small kitchen, lovely living room with big screen tv, fireplace, sofa and dinner table, lovely patio and nice bedroom. Bath had separate tub, shower combo and opened in to bedroom. Decor chic and comfortable-beds also comfy.
Food very good....restful quiet resort perfect for luxury rejuvenate. Heard staff talk today that in next issue of Conde Naste traveler they will be rated number one in U.S.

We (my boyfriend and I) had a fantastic, relaxing 2 night stay at Sanctuary. The service was brilliant, as was the food. We particularly found Concierge to be extremely helpful and friendly always. The attention to detail in our Mountain Casita and throughout the hotel was second to none. We didn't want to leave.

I was prepared for some negatives, having read some poor reviews, but there was absolutely nothing at all about this place that either of us could criticise.
