“Romantic Anniversary Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

My wife and I spent our 20th anniversary at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain. Our 5 day stay began with the Sunday brunch - very nicely done. Once our casita was available, we were surprised by a bottle of champaign and chocolate covered strawberries - I wish I had thought of that, but it was from the hotel manager. The accommodations were very clean and private. The bell staff were very quick to pick us up in the golf carts and take us to the hotel entrance for dinner as we were at the top of the hill at the base of camelback mountain. Room service for breakfast was always very quick. The Elements restaurant was excellent - food met or exceeded our expectations. The main pool's staff was very attentive, providing food and drinks promptly. We appreciated the fact that not many children were at the resort. We would highly recommend Sanctuary to all of our friends and plan to return there on our next trip to Scottsdale.

Pure paradise. The staff, rooms, property are fabulous. The food is amazing. It doesn't matter if you eat breakfast, lunch, snacks by the pool or dine in the bar or restaurant. Everything on the menu is 5 star. They provide lists of activities and restaurants in the area if you want to venture off the property. They also will arrange car services as needed, to from airport, or just about anywhere.

My weekend at the Sanctuary Resort/Spa in Phoenix with my all adult family was a perfect getaway. Hot and sunny, delicious food, great pool, relaxing spa, beautiful grounds -- I couldn't have asked for a better retreat. Dinner at Elements restaurant with a visit from Chef Beau MacMillian topped off a perfect weekend. I didn't see any young children at the pool -- which added to the tranquil nature of the resort -- but there were some smaller pools which would have been great for families traveling with little ones.

Room Tip: We had 6 in our group. The two casitas were similar, but decorated a little bit different. They wer...

This hotel has individual casitas that climb the side of Camelback Mountain just north of Phoenix and seven minutes from the Scottdale Fashion Show Mall. It is quiet, filled with desert beauty and oh so relaxing. We swam every morning in the pool just outside our casita. Parking is available almost at your door. The service and turn down service nightly was spectacular as we came home each night to candles, soft music, and a honey moon type of ambiance. You need a car to be at this hotel, but it is well worth it as Paradise Valley seemingly secluded is actually only minutes from all of the action. My wife loved it, I loved it...and we will be back

Room Tip: If you want to be closer to the action and noise ask to be close to the main building where the main...

We had a great time at Sanctuary. It was very relaxing, and the hot stone massage was the best I've ever had!! The diligent attention of the staff was very much appreciated as well, the pool staff was awesome, always on top of making sure we were well taken care of. The restaurant staff was very attentive, and the food was excellent! Everyone was willing to share their ideas for great restaurants and hiking in the area.

Room Tip: A room with a balcony will help you to enjoy the outdoors from your room.

Ugh. I come here once a year or so, and the lustre is gone off this pearl of a resort. Management left a fruit basket - cool, but my massage and spa scrub was dull, below average and certainly not worth the 250. My spa suite was grubby. They left my sliding glass door open! Who DOES that with female guests? Spent the rest of the night wondering who was going to try that door. Woke to the sounds of morning traffic helicopters hovering above the resort. The valet never showed at checkout, schlepped my luggage up the mountain. To spend nearly 1K on a spa experience and to be bored, scared, and rattled by aircraft, no thanks I'll go elsewhere!

Third time here. This time came in spring. Everything is blooming. Love the way they pamper you here. Little things like giving you your own sanctuary flip flops and setting them at bedside when they come in to light all the evening candles. Huge tub with bath salts a loofa scrubbed and special made washes shampoo conditioned and lotions. Infinity pool. Terry cloth covered chairs and towels at poolside. Lemon water served. Brest work out room and lap pool. Green apples almonds and raisins teas and water at the spa and workout area. Beautiful casitas large with a westing area. Keurig coffee tea maker. Bottled water offered every time you come through the gate. Located on acres of land. Private. Safe. Must go.

Room Tip: I liked the upper casitas best but the lower has a small balcony. But you may have a view of parkin...
