“This place has it all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2011

Anyone looking for the real Arizona - away from the strip malls and chain restaurants - should consider staying at the Hacienda Corona. It has both class and comfort and is excellent in every way: the food, the decor, the towels and bedding, the ambience, the desert views, the hospitality. The cocktail hour was the best. It renewed our faith in the possibility of luxury in a home away from home. The three generations of women in charge ministered to our every need, became our friends, and left us in peace when we needed it. It was stunning!

Staying at the Hacienda was just an amazing experience!! It is an historic hacienda, built in the 1930s. The restoration is unbelieveable. If you go, be sure to look through the album of Before and After photos! This place has SO much authentic atmosphere. It is very classy and beautiful. We got to see all of the rooms and each one is unique and lovely. There are large public rooms and a wrap-around veranda for relaxing outside and enjoying the desert vistas. Wendy, the owner, is a gracious, professional host and she is full of helpful and interesting information. We went over the border for an elegant meal at La Roca. We also took lots of scenic drives in the area. The border issues are overstated and we felt completely safe during our entire stay. The Hacienda is a perfect getaway from the cares of the world!

My parents-in-law, husband, daughter and I stayed at Hacienda Corona for a few wonderful days in early February. My husband and I stayed in La Patrona, and the room was fabulous -- enormous, with two very cosy chairs, a huge bed, a fireplace (they lit a fire for us), and one side of the room entirely comprised of windows with views of the mountains. The bathroom was equally lavish with a great whirlpool bath.

The hacienda has a lovely sitting room and dining room, and wonderful patios and gardens. We didn't go in the pool as it was February, but it looked inviting even in the rain.

Wendy and Phil are great hosts. They provide drinks and snacks in the evening, and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. We were all extremely sad to leave. I can't recommend the place highly enough; it easily goes down as the nicest bed and breakfast or hotel we've ever stayed at. For those to whom it matters, the address is Nogales, but we never actually saw Nogales. We spent more time in Patagonia, a few miles up the road. The hacienda is rural, not in town.

I travel constantly and this is hands down one of the best, most inviting, comfortable, and unique places I have ever stayed. I recommend it highly without one qualification.

The rooms, the courtyard, and the interior of Hacienda Corona are just wonderful. You wouldn't really have to go anywhere if you didn't want to. Many comfortable spaces both inside and out to read, write or chat. Phil and Wendy were wonderful hosts; helpful in all respects. Good hiking locations and restaurants within a 45 minute drive.

In looking for a place to stay for a couple of days recently, we stumbled upon the Hacienda Corona B & B. What a find! The corridor from Tucson to Nogales is chock full of history & beauty that we fell in love with years ago. The Hacienda is located in a beautiful setting, far enough into the country for some real solitude, but an easy drive to Nogales, Mexico and Tubac where there are plenty of dining, shopping and golfing options. It is located on a hill top with views of the Patagonia mountains to the east and the Santa Cruz river valley to the west. The grounds are immaculate & beautiful. Each of the rooms has its own theme & garden setting right outside your door. The proprietors, Phil & Wendy Stover are most gracious & solicitous. Pretty much anything you need can be accomodated, including being left alone, if that's what you'd prefer. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in southern Arizona, with some real history behind it, the Hacienda Corona can't be beat. We'll definitely be returning - as soon as possible.
